So, are the extreme poles worth the extra money, I've always had the 25ft slx, with an extension when needed.
But been seeing alot of people on here talking about the 22ft extreme pole. I'm tempted but it's nearly double the price.
What's the verdict lads

They are very fragile so if you're heavy handed, or use it to shut windows, don't bother. Only justifiable if you're struggling doing what you are with your current pole, or do a lot of 3 and 4 floor work. Sticking a light brush on a SLX is probably better than buying a Xtreme

I've never had one (too out of my price range), but a local window cleaner to me I know has one and it's brilliant. I think if you are someone who looks after their work stuff you'd be fine. I agree with @Part Timer though that a lightweight brush on an SLX is also a very good choice.

Depends on your work. If you have a lot of conservatories/extensions to reach over with a 25ft pole then yes it's worth it for the reduced strain on the body but if you can reach all your work with an 18 footer I'd stick with an SLX

Absolutely not worth it! They are extremely weak & are just not up to everyday window cleaning! The warranty is also not worth the paper it's written on!

I have a 18ft extreme love it 760g I think it’s very lite i went back to the extreme 22 and it just felt to heavy now the slx is stronger and will hast longer but it’s heavy in comparison to a extreme

As a long time user of Xtreme poles I would say they are very good poles if weight is an issue for you as it is with me. I also shut windows with mine all the time now with no issues, but you can't do it the way you do it with an SL-X.

That said If I were a lot younger I would use SL-X's. They really are tough poles.

I never could use an SL-X with an Xtreme brush though. It just felt out of balance. I used Ultimate brushes on mine.

Just ordered 2 more xtreme 22 poles.
They are brilliant.
Still using my old ones, I have one either side of my van, both are 2 years old.
Just make sure that every day when you see a customers outside tap nice and high, turn the pole upside down and give it a good wash through with the clamps open 👍

Before I bought my first one about 7/8 years ago, an extreme 18, I asked on here are they good/how light & delicate are they etc.

Well, I was scared stiff afterwards by some of the comments I saw and read on some of the treads! I was under the impression that it could snap at any moment by simply cleaning a window

I bought one in the end anyway, that one last nearly 3 years before I sold it for half of the money I paid for it (a few months down the line I heard it was still going fine)

I then bought a second one end of 2020, so a little over 4 years later, it’s still going, no breaks, no cracks, it’s well worn and the top section spins a little, but I’ve used it to close many windows (push rather than bang any windows closed if that makes sense)
It’s an 18 extreme, it’s so light, you could easily clean one handed weight wise, but can’t obviously dueto control & balance with the pole.

I will sell it again this year to buy another one, they’re not cheap, but as it’s a tool i use on probably 40/50% of my cleans, so use it everyday, I feel like it is worth the money.
To get over 4 years out of it, im very happy with that. There’s maybe not many jobs where your main tool, you can make your money back in the first day/two days/first week- whatever you earn.

And I always think, this job will probably give us some kind of neck, shoulder, or back pain once we’ve been doing it for perhaps 10/20/30 years,
It’s worth making the job as less strenuous as possible- realistically.

I remember you’ve always been excellent at cleaning & looking after your poles.

I always start off well and clean & spray it regularly when it’s new, but I have to admit, and I’m not proud of it, I haven’t washed out or sprayed my pole in about 6 months now! 😬 and probably only done it 3 or 4 times in the last two years.
But I guess that goes to show that the poles are well made, as I said mine is still going well after 4 years.

(But you’ve motivated me, I’ll clean & spray all my poles sometime this weekend)
