Help pricing a job

Luckily no spectators on that job or I would of looked the nob! All the gear no idea came to mind that day haha! Swiftly got the ladder off the van and got on his rear extension to get it all back. I wish I was rich enough to run away from 3 carbon pole sections hanging in a customers gutter haha! :laugh:

I did a gutter clear on a big house in winter last year couldn't seem to such anything out seemed totally clear.

Got up ladder and it was frozen solid lol, made it easy in the end though as it all pulled out in big long sections of ice.

er...was I allowed to ...er...drag some moss out of the blocked gutter and leave it hanging over the edge in several places and er...put ...other jobs I can do on my invoice...or is that cheating?/emoticons/biggrin.png

The reason for the end of October is due to me not really having that much time over the next couple of weeks, what with the part time job, having to watch the kids and getting ready to go on Holiday (2nd week in October) although I may have to do this beforehand and do it on a Saturday!

The inside gutters are not actually that bad just now as she had them done at beginning of the year by the local travelling community as she called it, said they made an awful mess and pretty much threw all the crap onto the ground then left.

I'm loving the really grassy gutter cleans as you can pull a great big chunk of it out in one go, as opposed to the moss which turns to gloop haha

my vac has an exhaust port to connect the hose/poles to hot blow to thaw out gutter first.
Id have said £250-£300 for this one too

Right guys quick question again (sorry) going to pick this brush up for the clean and use it for the clean (initial scrub down) then microfibre wipe it down after. What's the solution I need to get can't for the life of me remember (think its vitrol)

I'm using a bucket of water (several) and not WFP.

Visorol, UBIK?? Is that what I'm looking for? Yeah the pole comes with the brush head, thought it would be suitable for the S/F/G and conny whites.

Mate has a conny ladder that he's loaning me.

I had one of those poles I used to use a year or two ago for brushing on chems etc, UBIK is what you want, will work fine, you will find the hose connector on the end of the pole will probably leak and will eventually snap.

Who said anything about a ladder?! Gutter vac and wfp baby /emoticons/biggrin.png Although done two vac jobs in past week and both times ended up getting ladder out to get something out of the gutter (like my vac end tool haha)

Ladders came off on todays gutter clear job, huge thick set in weeds blocking every down pipe, Bertha was just not strong enough to suck them out, ended up pulliing out the big clumps by hand then using just one carbon section went up the ladder and hooverd out the remaining crap, then up with a few buckets of water to flush out the crud left in the down pipes till it all came out the bottom. Satisfying when it all comes out /emoticons/smile.png Job Done!

Cheers mate, doubt I'll use the hose connector but hoping it will be good to scrub the whites down after spraying with the UBIK

Nice one trev! Even with ladders I'd still want to use a vac, sooo much cleaner just sucking up all the gunk! I did a big gutter job today, lots of awkward guttering over a big conservatory etc that only a vac could do. But the ladder did have to come out for two repairs where the gutter joins had come apart. So as I had it out anyway I made it into an A frame and stood at the top of it with a single pole piece and hoovered out all the first floor height gutters from eye line - satisfying seeing the gutters get totally vacuumed clean /emoticons/biggrin.png

Good stuff mate, that's where my extendable pole comes in handy with the progutter tools, just stuck the ladder up in the middle of the house and then extend where needed, a lot messier for me but gets the job done. I've just sat and worked out what I've made in the 2 weeks since starting and I only need £98.82 to break even so with the upcoming full clean I'll have paid off all my equipment in 4 weeks plus extra.

Decided to try and bring that job forward, so that it's not too cold and she doesn't change her mind haha

I wonder how you guys do it. I had to empty the vac 3 times today, that's about 100-120 litres of gunk. You must go through a few gloves and buckets! And what do you do with all the gutter juice?

To break even in 4 weeks is amazing! I'd far too embarrassed to say how long its going be before I break even lol (although I did treat myself to a shiny van). Soon it'll be all profit for you :thumbsup: Naaah I'm just kidding, what I meant to say was soon you'll have some more cash to buy some shiny new windie toys :rofl:

Haha, I tip my buckets into a rubble sack each side of the house. Then dump the lot either at the local tip green waste or my own green waste bin.

I'm planning on getting some new squeegees next month (liquidators) plan is to pay off a Visa card we have that was used when doing an extension on the house (buying all the odds and sods) then get a Van myself instead of the lovable Astra I have just now. I'm going to speak to another firefighter windy on Saturday who is looking to offload some straggler houses he has near me, so fingers crossed.
