I ahve been asking for advice on here for a back pack set upand I am using the claber orange ones, listening to people they should be ok, I am yet to set it up but fingers crosed. mayhvae to use some plummer tape to make it tight leak free, may not have to.  I have just had a reply from steve garwood he uses a metal connection from

Varitech and then attaches I assume the hose via EZ snap connectors, which seem good, I think I will get one of these varitech as its looking solid and imagine would not leak and the ez snap part is good as there tight as I assume this pat would work in a van mount reel too. There is a post on the first page starting gardiner" back pack with hose reel" and has a lot of advice ont that.

I can recommend the angled brass swivel on the reel (it's serviceable if it leaks), and the expensive metal hoselock connectors for the female part. Served me well with no issues for more than two years.

The claber one started to leak after a few months.
