think i read somewhere that the alumax channel is made of aircraft alloy. not many aluminium squeegee channels use aircraft alloy that i do know , it is the best quality u can get

Chuffed to bits with the quality, you can tell the ali's good. I got to pick up the unger ninja yesterday and the channels on that are ridiculously think and heavy, whereas this feels just right- even the 30. The handle I bought yesterday doesn't fit the Alumax channels. The handle is exactly the same, but the gold backplate is a bit smaller and only take the usual brass and stainless ones. Luckily I ordered a whole one from cleancentre. I've tightened un and locked out the handle on mine as I'm not too keen on the swivel action, do you use the swivel for normal or just pole work? I'm thinking of glueing it so it doesn't come undone.

18 inch for me but the bigger the squeegee the easier it is to get a kink in the channel need looking after cnc.

I am waiting for my swiveloc angled squeegee to turn up so I can try the swivel action on normal windows..love the swivel action on the 0° and hman does well with a swivel

I don't dogear like most..dont hacksaw a cut in the channel..utube polzn bladz I do it like that and it makes a big difference

I wouldn't be happy not wipping the bottom of the frame, just don't like leaving soap on frames.

to be truthful iv only used my alumax rarely in recent times as ive drifted away from doing shopfront altho its still in my van . i found on modern double glazed panels it skipped when the glass flexes. however it worked very well on a Santander bank with plate glass and also well on a full size Tesco i did nearby- i did the outside in very quick time all down to the alumax . i loosened up the swivel ,well after a time it wore loose and i preferred it like that .id grip it high up between thumb and forefinger[close by the swivel point] so i could control the amount of swivel
but i lost the tesco when the contract changed and then shortly after i dropped the santander/greggs etc as i felt without the nearby tesco it wasnt worth doing standalones at £7 in and out including upstairs n signage was fools money. .

strange thing about the tesco staff,id gotten to know them and was often greeted "heres your man Gloria " by cackling older female staff . got to see the managers little likes and dislikes ; he had a "slave" who followed him about and buttered his toast etc but he not once ever looked at the windows .i still go in the store at lunchtimes to get a snack but its as if they have never seen me before stare right thru me lol

hmmmm i wish i could look after my equipment....but....i dont....i just sling it in the boot....naughty i know..one day..i will honest./emoticons/biggrin.png we will just forget the time i slammed the boot on my plastic belt buckle....ooops boot won....

yeh that 18 inch is a bit big.....but all going well at the mo....please ...let it stay that way..i hate it when the blade....for no reason...just decides...thats it ....ive had enough.....

Must say I have put bucket on back seat with sidekick with squeegee in it and shut the door on the protruding channel but only once I think.

Never been in person, but the lady that deals with all the orders on the phone is spot on every time. A real test of a company is how they deal with stuff when they get it wrong, and any time I've had a problem with an order it has been sorted straight away with no drama.

the lady is very efficient,well they all are . its just that i always sense somebody is watching you when you browse the shop which is often empty when you enter ,thru a peep hole perhaps. i once looked over at a load of scrim, marvelling at the huge stack , then moved away and carried on browsing

- 5 minutes later the owner appeared and asked "are you interested in a palletload of scrim by any chance? "

Speaking of atmospheres, you want to try walking into CCL in Cambridge, now that is a rubbish atmosphere. Barely got one word out of the bloke behind the till the other day. Shocking really, it doesn't cost anything to be polite. I'll always try and keep my business with Ken Booth in huntingdon. Top notch service in there.

Just came across this thread. I use a Sorbo 36 Cobra with Sorbo swivel handle and it works well all round. Thought I would try the Alumax 36 inch with their swivel handle as it's a bit lighter than the Sorbo. I find it skips the glass all too often which the Sorbo does not do, so annoying. I tried changing the handle to Sorbo handle and still same as, I tried adjusting the way I hold it but still skips. Might try it with Ninja handle for curiosity sake.

I think the angle seems bit steeper than the Sorbo but I can use the Sorbo fanning and doing straight pulls on high work. Does anyone else use the Alumax, just curious of what others think about it?
