Hi , I'm starting to feel a bit fed up with this now, winter looming ,dark nights,none payers, I'm feeling un motivated and really cheesed off with none payers ,in the last 8week I've has to threaten 3 customers with court to actually get paid, I've applied for a production role at Toyota ,if I get it puraclenz maybe for sale /emoticons/sad.png

Honestly don't do it. I worked for a car manufacturer before I started on the windys. I was on the production line and worked my way up to management. The shift work was crap ended on a day shift but seemed to work 13 hour days.

Got some money left to me. Decided to make the break now I could never work for anyone else. My opinion is that you will soon see the joy again keep going and smile :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Being self-employed and working on your own all day are not for everyone.

For me, sad though it may be, I love window cleaning, and will do it for as long as I am able to lift a pole. This is a business I have built from nothing to one that pays me (what I consider) a very nice income for no hassle.

Can't say I've ever had much of a problem with non-payers. 3 cleans then I stop, and I don't chase them after, because my time and energy spent chasing them is better spent replacing them with good customers. You have to not let it get to you, it's just a fact of life, and for me, rare thought it is, it's never more than about £60 loss. Move on.

As for being on your own - my secret is AUDIBLE talking books. I'm a sucker for sci-fi stories and detective mysteries. Sometimes I look forward to getting up to going to work so I can find out what happens next! (Recommendation - Robert Galbraith)

However, you cannot do this job if it's making you miserable. Life's too short.

@abs Do you just do windows mate? Maybe the same routine of day in day out windows has gotten a bit stale. Try branching out and offering other services, maybe if you mixed up the windows with softwashing, gutter cleans and pressure washing you might find you'll get your enjoyment back. Trying new things will give you motivation as it will be a new challenge.

Anyway, that's what I'd do if I was in your situation, break the mould. All the best bud[emoji1360]

Can't beat a good conny/fascia or patio softwash

Eventually that will be about 80% of my average weeks work with just a cream window round to fill the gaps

After so many years on the glass it does seem time for a change

Don't get me wrong I love this job most timea, and for those that don't know me, I've been a window cleaner for 23 year but only run my own company now for about 4 year, company is doing well and I have weeded out most of the losers, I just feel the buzz I uses to feel has gone

I've been there for two years before this April. Contemplating selling up and moving on, but when I worked out my income over 3 days (probably the least I work even if you average 5-6 hours a day through winter it adds up). I could never get a job that paid better, even in a 40 hour week.

Since my last member of staff left (April) and I moved to WFP I've never loved the job as much. I really motivate myself for what I want to earn in a day and go for it. Nobody moaning, nobody to pay and from that I've found I'm earning the most money in my life.

Moral of the story; mix it up if it's not working as it is. Do something to inspire yourself to carry on and pick yourself up. Nothing in life is easy and most of it is crawling back up through the ***** to better yourself.

Don't give up if you've spent 4 years making it yours. You'll appreciate the effort next spring when this horrible weather is gone again for 7 months.

I often feel like packing it up! Today I was on the road at 7:00, I've just finished for the day. I got home at 5:30, printed some leaflets, filled my tank, texted tomorrow's customers, chased up non payers, counted my takings (never seem to have any money) and now I'm going to have my tea. Tomorrow it all starts over again. At least I might win the lotto tonight /emoticons/biggrin.png
