I've just fitted a univalve (at last) to my phantom pole. It works absolutely fine, but the top section of the phantom is quite narrow and it's quite a tight fit. I really like the pole but I imagine it will wear away at the carbon a bit. I use a hose stay so it won't budge too much, but I just wondered if anyone uses one with a Gardiner pole and if they were a little wider? Thanks.

I don't know how wide the top section of a Phantom is but the Univalve in a Gardiner pole can move around

Thank you ๐Ÿ‘. It fits but is very snug. You need to take of the top clamp and it just about squeezes down inside. It wasn't too bad or anything, but I've had one on an SLX a while ago and I'm sure it moved around a bit. Thanks again.

All of my poles are now phantoms, have the univalve in all of them and havenโ€™t noticed any wear on the carbon. 2 1/2 years the one has had the univalve in and no wear on it. Remember that it stays in the same position inside the smallest pole with no movement. The great thing about these poles, even though the smallest section is narrow, is that the clamps are easy to take off with an allen key. The univalve I find frustrating because they donโ€™t last that long. I find after about 4 months it starts to play up and you have to clean it out. Then a few weeks later same again. Itโ€™s a great idea but wish it lasted longer between maintenance. I tried the maintenance kit but it seems to not last as long as a completely new one which is odd. Canโ€™t do without it though ๐Ÿ˜Š

Just kink the hose , I found after a very short while the uni valve stoped working was more trouble than it was worth threw it away lesson learned

Thatโ€™s strange. Maybe you got unlucky and bought a faulty one. I had one like that which only lasted around 6 months but all the rest have lasted me years. The one thatโ€™s in my workers pole is around four years old and will probs outlast the pole๐Ÿ˜‚ I also use one in my hypo/chemical spraying pole. With a good flush out after use it can be stored for months in between use then works perfectly when needed.
