I'm still fairly new, in window cleaning terms Im only 2 years old, so its terrible two's, getting tantrums now and then as well.I still don't understand itI just put a rubber in the channel
Put channel in any handle
Clean the window and squeegee it off
Never understood where all the problems come from
I think it is definitely related to technique having used modded tools for years
Are you using the Moerman rubber as I'm not sure if its that ?I still don't understand itI just put a rubber in the channel
Put channel in any handle
Clean the window and squeegee it off
Never understood where all the problems come from
I think it is definitely related to technique having used modded tools for years
How you finding the red rubbers are you finding them leaving lines like others are saying ?Use a nice slippy solution and you can use it like a normal channel
OK cheers when you mean more slip do you add more liquidNo but i got my last batch last june i think so i definitely haven't got the same batch
Try not to overthink this...you have a channel, a piece of rubber and a handle....plus end clips that add a slight dog ear to minimise detailing. Like any change of squeegee brand there will be slight changes of technique required. When I first purchased mine I put the 14" channel in the Moerman bi-component handle, soaped up the glass and tested with a few straight pulls until I got my wrist, handle angle to the glass correct and the blade was cleanly removing the solution from blade tip to blade tip. Once I had that it simply came down to practice as per Bob's excellent videos. Since then I've used them in an Ettore handle..OK, Unger...hated, Moerman (both)... Fine and finally... Wagtail set at 20°... Excellent. My favourite rubbers are both Razer Red and Black Diamond but also have tried and have no issues with, Moerman, Ettore, Wagtail, Pulex and Unger. If you do the straight pull test you will find what handle suits you best. I've said elsewhere that this channel is designed and set optimally for the Moerman handles which have a 40° angle. The Ettore is 35° and therefore to blade optimally will need to be raised further from the glass...To me the handle seems more closer to the window? These razor rubber blades people are having problems with getting lines arnt they?
Saying they are not what they was like
Prob my technique as it different to a normal channel
Just seen it on Peter Erken window cleaning world also Eric....slightly cheaper. Ettore Pro Grip Quick Release Stainless Steel Handle
Ettore brass and SS channels have always required the brass retention clips for the rubber. Their original handles are designed for quick change out of channels and didn't actually touch the rubber at all. My Wags don't hold rubber and I don't use the screw. I just pinch the clips in a bit more.Just realised after putting the BD rubber in that the brass channel doesn't actually grip the rubber. The reason i didn't notice it whilst using the razr red was because the extra thickness of that held it in place. I'm now wondering if the pro grip has enough wrap round the liquidator channel to grip the rubber.
