New traditional window cleaner

Going back ten yrs i was a solo windie up my ladder when a SKY engineer was at the house next door ,his ladder was screwed to the wall and he started preaching to me about ladder saftey and why i should not be on one wearing trainers.In the conver he confessed he had had a ladder fall in the recent past,due to wearing all the safety gear ,he was unaware he was falling till too late !
Anyhoo about a month ago i was cleaning on my ladder in a nearby town who should be installing a SKY dish on a ladder nearby but the same guy!
He didnt remember me but i did him.
As we chatted he said that nearly All the sky engineers have been now made redundant due to new technology theres no need for dishes .He was fitting an old style dish only because the new techno doesnt always work in rare cases. I found it really funny that this preacher was now up shitcreek jobwise sitting in the depot most every day doing nowt -and gave him my tip......start cleaning windows .

When I was a windie and it came out you cannot use ladders any more I looked into it a bit athough for shop work I only used a5 foot pole and a 6ft pointer occasionly. Back then I was told you cannot use ladders unless there is another way to clean windows,wfp was more or less in its infancy then. It is crazy as all building sites at some stage use ladders,aerial fitters use ladders,gutter cleaners sometimes use ladder etc. The most stupid thing that happened to me was I was asked to clean inside of a shop window and whereas I would normaly use a pole I chose to use a 6ft pointer. The man in charge of the plaza was a ex military sargent and he came into the shop and told me I cannot use ladder as it was a danger to other people!!!! I ignored him and nothing happened.Another time I was using a small pole off a 6ft pointer on outside of windows on 1st floor and there was not a soul around.One of his workers came and told me to stop as it is dangerous so I aksed to whom?? He went away and again heard nothing. Later on the manager was sacked as he treated his staff like dirt,no one missed him.
