Hi guys, now I’ve know some of u earn great money, a lot more than me. I’m not asking how much anybody earns at all. I’d just like to know roughly how much more % wise people earned doing the same work when they got in the full swing of wfp’ing after changing from trad?

I cant speak for everyone, will be different for all, I'd guestimate a good 20% to 30% more for wfp. But then there are more outgoings. For me, it was more of a safety thing. Really couldnt handle going up and down ladders all day. also, i think as you get older wfp has got to be kinder on the body than trad.

Yea I agree, I was hoping to switch over this year but my wife had other ideas (for the house) deffo changing over next spring/summer! I can’t handle much more ladder work. Cheers for the reply, your guestimation was in the region of what I would expect ??

This is a difficult one to answer but we now do s lot of jobs that we couldn’t do trad and charge more beacause of that , I would say as a guesstimate  we probably do 30-40% more work in the same time but that is a guess

At first I was slower with WFP than trad. First cleans take a long time if you're going to do them properly. Wasn't as bad with us as we did frames as standard anyway.

Slowly picked up speed and after a few months I'd say I was around 50% faster. Now I'm 100% or twice as fast. The pole is quicker once the windows are used to it and you know what you're doing (especially those annoying side windows) You can speed up even more by getting good equipment. The things that sped me up the most are a van mounted tank (as opposed to barrels), getting a better quality pole and brush, univalve and electric hosereels.

Yea, I’m giving the tops of the frames a good clean now where all the dirt sits & I’ll wipe over every month after as I’ve heard not doing this will make the transition to wfp even harder.

I do a row of houses with my father in law. He works trad, im wfp (long story). I can do 3 1/2 in the time it takes him to do 2, not including setup and packup time, which takes longer than chucking a ladder on the roof and bucket in the back. So realistically your looking at 30% quicker from pulling up to pulling off.

Cheers m8, I know it won’t be like that at first but just wanted a rough guide so I can work out what would be an achievable goal a few months down the line after the switch over ??

i changed over to wfp 9 years ago.....i now earn around £25k more a year than i did when i was on the ladders but work shorter hours.....its all about the money and the shorter working days for me....ive also picked up a fair bit of work over the last 9 years because i use a pole system.....expenses wise i reckon i spend an extra £5k a year compared to trad but still well worth it.....best thing ive ever done in window cleaning....?
