The only prob starting trad first is quite a few custies will think they liked the old way, some will want you to stay trad, whereas if you start as you mean to go on that is largely avoided. Still good to learn trad though!

Very true, but I don't know what way I wana go till I tried both, and from the wfp work I seen in the face, I pushes me to trad unless trad is not possible in which case I would use wfp, rather than the other way round

are you set up on wfp yet?

Not too far at all mate, only issue I'd have is that if I go wfp, I'd have to sell up my bike to buy a van lol
you working out of a car then? thats no problem you could use barrels and a trolly or back pack type system and just use it for a few jobs.

i started wfp from a vw golf! lol i had a 125lt tank in that! lol

Lol fair enough, problem is, on a Saturday or evening or what ever when we go out, all the gear will have to come out and be left I'm the front room so I can get the buggies and **** in there lol.

I quit like the idea of an Astra van diesel, the sportive model lol

yer thats the down side to it in a car, i had to take it out and put it back to a car each night, then put it back as a work van in the morning! total balls ache!

I don't mean to sound condescending but if you are seriously going to start a window cleaning business then spend so money on decent wfp kit & van. Before you do anything spend a day or so working with someone else as window cleaning is hard graft and not everybody is cut out for that type of work.

All ppl here how great it all is and how much money they can earn but to be brutally honest you could probably be better off working at mcdonalds on min wage than as a window cleaner in the first year. /emoticons/biggrin.png

you dont need to spend a lot of money to make a successful business! you have seen pictures of my kit, its not what you would call decent, but it dose the job and if i get this contract i have put in for then in under a year of having that van set up, i will be hiring staff etc! you can spend £1000's on kit dont mean you can use it right!

I'm not on about spending thousands on a system either but decent lightweight poles etc. You can have the most expensive kit in the world but thats not going to gain you work either unless you work at building a good profitable business.

Sorry I think cns is a bit of a dreamer as one minuite is talking about making a diy trolley then next thing wanting to work on buildings with a 50ft pole that would cost in the region of a £1,000 to buy.

You don't need money or wfp to get started. You'll expand as quick as you wana expand, depending on how much effort you wana put it.

I know it's hard graft and that not something I'm worried about to be honest

i have diy harris poles! dirt cheap! and running a nice and profitable business!

Good for you rc but a harris pole has only an 18ft reach,...what about all the other jobs you could be doing if you had decent wfp poles? /emoticons/biggrin.png
