Ok that’s interesting. Ime more looking at cover for me damaging or scratching someone’s glass as have so many customers with huge bi fold patio doors and great big panes of glass several meters long that are over 3:5 k per sheet , and dont want to take the chance of getting a huge bill should the worst happen , up until now we have cracked 3-4 small windows with hot water and I have paid for it myself but these new Windows are rather expensive so thought it would be better to be covered for the window being worked on just in case .Has anyone made a successfull claim ?. In the terms and conditions they state if you admit that you have done damage they might void the claim. I had a scenario where scottish power closed my road off for work, the road was bad for turning which meant reversing back up most of the time. I came out to go to work and the van had hit my ladder reversing and snapped it. My ladder had the van paint on it and the van had a big line where you could clearly see they hit the ladder. The measurement the same height as the ladder. Although that was the only van in the street as it was closed that day and even with that evidence the insurance didn't pay out because thr driver denied it and I didn't have proof. They were looking for someone witnessing it or it being recorded.
I asked my insurance if I done damage and no one seen it and as the policy states to not admit liability to the customer, would the customer need a recording or someone witnessing it for them to pay out. They couldn't answer my question instead saying every claim is different etc. I've ended up taking a credit card out to get used for damage incase the insurance doesn't pay out.
