Pure freedom pump last

WCF

Help Support WCF:

PF used to fit Shurflo pumps to their trolleys. If its a Shurflo its a good pump. The current 2 pumps on my van are 9 and 10 years old.

In the old days before controllers, pressure switches were a Shurflo pump's Achilles heel.

What's the problem? Is it the controller fuse? Have your connected the battery up incorrectly (reverse polarity?)

Is the issue pressure switch related? Will the pump run if its connected directly up to the battery?

I use a 5.2lpm sureflow with a pwm instead of a controller and is still going strong since November with original pressure switch

That is used as wfp pump and for hypo as i have a 3 way valve to switch between softwash tank and pure for windows

Good workhorse

Your strainer could well be the the problem. I never run with one now. I don't see the point if you keep your barrels clean and are only using pure water. Since I've not used one I have never had problems with flow.

On the flip side to this debate, both my pumps have strainers and have never caused a problem.

I clean them every two weeks and even though I'm careful, there is still muck in them that they have stopped. Each to their own etc etc

I probably get away with it because I use 25ltr barrels that are easy to flush out compared to a large static tank. My original PF trolley ten years ago,  came without one and I thought I'd fit one. Up to that point I'd had no trouble, just though it sounded like a good idea. So I fitted an inline one. Unfortunately it caused more problems than it was worth. Mainly with clearing airlocks. I never found anything in it except algea that grew in it, so I took it off. My new trolley, two years ago, came with one fitted which caused problems with flow within a few weeks of getting it. It wasn't a serviceable part so it took it off. Not had a problem since. Airlocks clear in two seconds flat (no exageration) and I run almost every barrel dry.

My earlier suggestion was because the original post mentioned the fact that the problem was with a freedom trolley. I fully understand why it is a good idea to fit one on a van mount and I would if I had one.

I also have one on my streamline trolley. Again, never had any problems with airlocks etc ?
