Just wondering if there are any alternatives that compare on price/quality?

I understand it would be cheaper to DIY however I'm not the most technically minded...although suggestions would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Check out jimmyboots threads on here

Use the search function and look for "diy alternative to backpack" or another called heavy duty van mount/trolley i think

Nice cheap way to make a trolley with instructions and links to parts

Cheers, I'll check that out.

Wasn't trying to be lazy by asking, I've tried the search but keep getting vague results. Thanks again

If I had my time again on a trolley I would leave it in my van straped up conceded to a hose reel and use it like a van mount.and just fill up with my barrels when needed I worked a trolley for 3 years hard work lot of lifting and dragging didn't have the money for a van mount I got a trolley for 160 was bang on.

The PF 50 litre trolley is £480 inc VAT........it's a professionally engineered piece of kit that looks professional as well.

By the time you've mucked about sourcing the best parts and putting it together you could have earned that including the price for the parts you have to buy.

How much would a battery, pump and wiring cost...decent spec..........all pumps will get air locks when changing barrels takes literally seconds to clear.

For what they are they are seriously overpriced and have the usual flaw that they get air locks very easily
In light of what mine has earned me in the nine years I've been using one, I don't regret the money I spent on it one little bit. They are a very professional and robust bit of kit. And an airlock is easily cleared with the right know-how. Mine clears in two seconds flat when done correctly.

I have made a few for myself in the past and also a backpack on a trolley which works great

Nothing wrong with buying one but i prefer to make mine

I even made one for the boot of my car on a fold up cheap sack truck that cost no more than £50 to make including the sack truck

It must make you feel pretty chuffed when you can design and build something like one of these trolleys. I've got a mate who used to have a van mount but hated it, so he built two 60ltr trolleys, one for his son and one for himself. They are monsters, (way too big for me) but they work really well for him and his son.

I'm having access issues with cars in driveways and need to extend my hose. With the pure freedom trolly, will the pump comfortably manage 50 metres do you reckon?

I use my pure freedom trolley as static van mount , using a 100 metre hose reel , NO Problems . I've pumped 130 metres with no problems . Mine is 4 years old . Never had a issue with air locks ......
