Hi I have a window cleaning business that is not making money how do I go unemployed to go on universal credit what information would I need to provide any help would be appriciated.
I don't think you need to be unemployed to go on Universal Credit - just apply, you will be jumping through hoops every few weeks though.
I would guess making your business more profitable would be a better way.

Is it that you don't have enough work, prices too low, what's the problem, we may be able to help?

I think the question that’s needs answers is why arnt you making money ? No point in working for a loss , re evaluate and increase prices , dump poor paying work etc

Why would a bunch of window cleaners on the Internet know about this?

I've never met a window cleaner that didn't make money....ever.....until now.

Your local Citizens Advice is your best bet

Well you know how to kick someone when they're down. Many window cleaners have tried to establish themselves and not succeeded so he's not exactly the only one.

Have a look online mate. I don't claim universal credit myself but there is some help there. I agree with @ched999uk that it will require jumping through hoops every few weeks if you are self employed (if you are employed it's easier to track your income). I think you can de-register as self employed if you want to, but they would want you to apply for an employment job. Maybe they can recommend a business advisor or something like that to help you with your business. I know someone that claims and they went through their bank statements and they got told off for doing their shopping in Sainsbury's and were told they should be shopping in Aldi and Lidl instead as it's cheaper, so go through everything with a tooth comb before you apply. Hope everything works out for you mate.
