Hi wiz! I have a friend got the exact same problem with that specific model you got. He also want to change to the Eccotemp 5l now.He got problems with it turning off all the time at 6 on the 1-9 flow control.

Maybe even at 4 . But I know 2 others than run theirs (same type ) great without any complications. Anyway, I've thought of the Eccotemp after reading reviews online, and the fact that you're max using 2 l per minute, so a 5 l must be sufficient, instead of 8 .

In my country it sells for 140 pounds, SO cheap. And yet people are very pleased with the quality online.. Mine works great . Yesterday it was subzero degrees,no problems! As mentioned it's very sensitive to the heat-setting, not much from minimum is advised at winter temps. One little notch and its raising much. I've put a dot to mark my optimal settings. In the summer of course I'll raise it. Just don't wanna crack anyone's windows.
Hello David, the gas heater I had was very sensitive & would not keep a steady heat especially when running high flow .. I changed to a immersion heater & have never looked back.

Sounds good ! And you get the benefit of a steady warm van without the need off additional heaters in the nights with subzero right ?

I'm looking at making a similar set up, do you just have one outlet to both pumps? Is the flow rate the same for each pole or do you have problems? Trying to decide about a new DIY system or a Grippamax/Pure Freedom set up.

my next job to raise my reels of the floor, all that spae wasted. if raised up you have a lot of space, but need a base under reels incase of drips .

Regarding Immersion heaters people were and are using 2kw elements but 1kw elements can be bought which means you wont need a separate RCD unit fitting in your garage .
The way I understand it is that the regulations have required that an RCD be fitted to cover all electrical plugs and lights in the garage for many years now. When we purchased our house 16 years ago we had to get an electrician in to do that for us. We couldn't get a mortgage until that was brought up to the requirements. We put the whole house on an RCD. An RCD should be used when using an electrical lawn mower, strimmer etc.

The problem comes when cleaners want to fit a 3kw element into their tanks. That requires a 16 amp socket and circuit wired directly into the electrical distribution board.

A 2kw heating element is fine just plugged into an ordinary garage socket but needs to be RCD protected and the right size cable used.

Whatever element size is being used, the whole extension cable also needs to be unwound from the cable drum and laid out flat.
