Hi all - I am relatively new to this game and could do with some advice from more experienced window cleaners. I sometimes still get streaks/marks on windows even though the rubber is new. It's lines or marks where the main body of the rubber is and not on the sides. These marks mostly clear by the time I come to detail. Is this normal? Should I be able to achieve a completely streak free glide over the glass all the time.

I use fairy liquid and unger green rubbers.

That sometimes happens whilst a new rubber is wearing in. Unger green is as far as I'm aware is a medium rubber so may take a little time to bed in. It could also be you are holding the squeegee at slightly the wrong angle so you could try adjusting that. Try using some Unger soft rubber as that wears in pretty much straight away so you'll be able to find out more quickly what the issue is. If the Unger soft is still doing it after about 5 mins then it's probably an angle issue. Personally I'd ditch the Unger green anyway as I don't rate it.

Thanks for the response. I’ll investigate further.
