Stopping waste water from my RO.

So guys, I've started using just a DI Vessel, as purifying water through my ro system is time consuming, uses A LOT of water and is more hassle.

I have one of these 300GPD systems:

Yet, I hear some people stop the waste water, and though it means your filters don't last as long, it's cheaper than using just di's.

Anyone have any info?

The waste water at the moment isn't much worse than my tap water, and the pure water trickles and it takes about an hour for 20litres....

if the waste is'nt much worse than tap you could put that through ro again- have heard of someone doing that, but don't have a clue how rig it up

I've been investigating getting a break tank to comply with regs on using a booster pump. I reckon you could just redirect waste water back into this tank.

Unsure at moment at what point will it be too saturated with dissolved solids.

if you run your waste water though a filter or two (or even old di??)you should be able to return it to your break tank

or if you could rig it up so half the water goes into the tank and the other half down the drain

BUT, if I can stop waste water, should I get a better flow and full flow of pure water?

Look into fitting a ro-back system fitted if you can, from ionics this will cut your waste water down by at least 30-40%.
