Hi, every morning I go to use my system I have something like suds. I uses only pure water, nothing else. Water quality in 4ppm.

It's just frustrating as I'm not sure if the windows would be smeary for the first 5 mins so I end up re rincing them when it stops studding. Any idea why?

I'm fairly sure it's not air. Air general makes a noise comming out. Also if it was letting air in I would have a problem throughout the entire day. Even after lunch there's no suds. It's literally first 5 mins of the day

It could probably be from your hose on the reel. We always get it when using a new hose. Even with old hose, we get these 'bubbles' if the hose hasn't been used for a while.

Someone once said it could be releasing agents in the plastic used during manufacture. From experience, it's worse on some hose than others. Why not clean a downstairs window tonight when you get home and make sure it's clean. Then clean the same window tomorrow morning and leave it to dry. Then inspect it when you get home tomorrow night and see if you have any issues.

You could also take your tds meter out with you and get a sample of the water to test. It hasn't concerned me when it does this, as I never found any spotting issues.

Now that sounds like that's what I could be. We have 2 different types of hose and it's only mine that has any issues. I'll get the tds meeter on it and see what it says. Thanks

There was only one other cleaner wfp in the area when we converted to wfp some 17 years ago. Basically, we bounced ideas off each other, we tried new things and reported results back to each other.

I was very fortunate as I picked up a council run Dot & Spots type child day care job that could only be done over a weekend when no one was around. Being single story and in the shape of a big U was also a bonus. I spent many a cleaning weekend playing around with flow settings, wash and rinse passes. As some windows were in the warm sunshine, they made ideal 'test benches' as we could inspect the results and titivate any issues before posting the invoice on completion.

If you can find a similar practice site, I would recommend going for it. Our area is on the north coast. We quickly learnt that we needed 2 washing passes on the glass and a good rinse every time. But I tried a single pass with low water flow, then a single pass with a high water flow. We experimented with rinsing on the glass then off the glass. Each time we could see and analyse the results without the customer's involvement because all they saw on Monday morning was clean windows. We could also clean 2 windows differently next to each other and compare the results. I tried different brushes, flocked and mono filament. We found a mono filament brush best, although we have a flocked brush on a pole with zero splay for some leaded windows on our round.

We had that job for some 12 years before the council decided that they could save money using their own cleaners. These days it's our lounge window which has become the new test site when needed. I will always advise making use of your own windows when you need to test an issue etc.

I had this happen years ago with a hose turned out it was a manufacturing fault with the lubricant that was used for drawing the hose through the mandrel when it was made, it made the water foam up for a while each day then stoped after about 20 muinits or so . After the hose was replaced never happened again .

It does make you wonder about the safety aspect of using hose that does this. While I doubt any of us will drink the water that comes through this hose, we will be subject to fine mist that could drift our way through the air and breath it in when we are cleaning windows, especially upstairs ones.

We have experienced this with new hose, but it has always gone away after a couple of days. As I've mentioned before, if we haven't used a reel for a while (we have a spare reel) we get this. If we have to use this reel, I usually flush the hose out first before putting it into use.

Apparently it was a lubricant used in the manufacturing process but you would think after a couple of days it would stop but it appears that this kept coming out of the hose into the water permanently. We also flush all hoses first thing in the morning for a couple of muinits since I had this situation years ago .

This also is happening with new yellow 5mm pole house I got recently, happens for a couple of mins then stops, not much of a big deal.
