Tank position?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

started mine today luke, your tank seems to have a smaller footprint?,i was given the exact place to put the tank and bolt lenghts etc but sadly that was for an ionics tank,i had to offset my tank as its a 650l and needed to bolt to the chassis members aswell as the floor,
Mines the standard Wydale 500L upright, I think the footprint is 100cm by 62cm plus a further 10cm both ways for the frame.

If you look at the underside you can see 2 of the 4 bolts through the chassis and the front section of angle iron which overlaps the chassis flange, there are 14 m10 bolts in total, should be enough?

How far back does the Ionics tank sit?

That's an excellent job, well done.

I would remove the wire to the pump from behind the side supports and the tank. The tank will move/flex when it's fully of water and damage those wires very quickly.

Would also paint the angle iron under the floor with some antirust paint and turn those bolts around so the thread is inside. Rusty bolts are a nightmare to remove a couple of years down the line. You can usually push some hose over the threads to stop you hurting yourself in them.

Thanks for the advice on the wires, I was hoping to keep them out of the way but I can see how they could be damaged where they are...I'm planning to spray some stonechip on the underside and the bolts are stainless so should be ok, besides I can just see my wifes face when I ask her to hold the spanner again so I can turn the bolts the other way up?

B&Q tomorrow for zip ties and hopefully some 1/2 inch hosetails to eradicate the leaky hozelock fittings...then back to work Monday...still waiting on my float valve, on a slow boat from China, sodding Ebay sellers who claim to be Uk based.

i was told that these vans are the easiest to fit tanks to? hhmmm, cross rail members are 1040mm centres and i was told to sit the tank 1040 in from the rear doors hitting the cross rail just behind the exhaust 100mm bolts for that and 150 for the chassis rails, from there its easy to drill a hole near the side door step to pick up power from the battery and get a good earth-that was the easy bit for me everything else was a chore
