Hi everyone, I am just starting my own window cleaning business and I am looking at buying a Water Fed Pole system. From what I have read on this forum, my first step is to buy a 'decent' TDS meter to test my water which will then determine which system I go for. I have been looking online for a TDS meter but there are so many and I am not sure what price I should be paying to get a 'decent' one. Can anyone recommend any in particular? Thank you.

Buy it from Daqua or Gardiners as you know they will be genuine items. There are other good suppliers as well but these spring to mind.

Always got to think twice about stuff on sale from Ebay.

Pretty much any tds meter from any supplier will do the trick.

Below is a water hardness map for the UK. (Apparently, Scotland isn't in the UK anymore. I wonder if anyone has told Nicola Sturgeon.)

If you want to make large quantities, you'll almost certainly want an RO system. Don't get too frantic about getting 000. Water up to 010 and even a tad beyond will leave windows spotless.

And, if your roof is large enough, you can always collect rainwater. It might need running through a small DI unit and particle filter before storage, but it's a good option if you can do it. Have a look on youtube for rainwater collection to get ideas.

In fact, look on youtube for everything to do with window cleaning. There's an incredible wealth of good stuff on there ... as well as a small amount of the inevitable rubbish.
