I’m thinkin of convertin alot of my work from traditional to wfp. Can anyone tell me what sort of increase in wage should you expect? We averagely do about 20£ - 25£ an hour on ladders. I would be doing it through a van with a tank. Any recommendations or advice would be also greatly appreciated

Initially it will take you longer to do the first couple of cleans but once you have everything up to speed I recon you can do a third more work per day , and of course you can do jobs that you cannot do trad , I’ve been wfp for 15 years now and it’s the best thing I ever did : you won’t regret it once you get the hang of it

Thanks pjj, what pole would you recommend?

As a good all round pole ia a gardiner slx is very good( 100% carbon) very hardy difficult to damage unless you are very careless reasonably stiff and weight is ok, if that’s a bit to expensive the Gardiner clx is a hybrid pole carbon and fibreglass it’s a nice pole but more whippey and a bit heavier but a good starter pole hope this helps

Yeah, I’ve had a fibreglass one. Was ridiculously heavy. At what sort of price would the first one you mentioned cost? I’m happy to pay for a light one

Depends on the length there web site is diwn at the moment very unusual have a look on there Gardiner pole systems the six is a very robust pole , if you want the lightest then the extream poles are very good but no ware near as robust a bit like comparing a family hatch back to a formula one car , the extream poles are about double the price I think of the slx

Just to clarify the clx hybrid pole isn’t like the old fibreglass poles it’s not that heavy and is easily usable all day just hippy in any size above 18 feet

No one is gonna be able to give you an hourly rate as all parts of the country are different. A chap round by me is trad and WFP and says he aims for £40 per hour, has one lad with him. You said 'we' so I assume you don't work alone. I watched an interesting video the Trad Man did on YouTube where he compared the time. 16 mins to do a bungalow WFP and 18 mins Trad. Even more time saving to be had on a two storey where you now don't need to get the ladders off the van. If you have a full diary I would guess you could turn that £20-25 into £35-40 quite easily.

When I converted the first clean took about 25% longer, as you have to strip back the soap film that gets left from tradding, and the residue absorbed by the seals. From the second clean onwards I was about 20-25% faster, as less work was needed.

If your work is compact then I would think a 25% increase in Bournemouth rate is easily achievable. If your round is a few houses here and there you will struggle to do much better.
