Yeh, guess I am stuck in a country backwater area. But wfp has been going years here, same as anywhere. But spoke to a tradder doing my neighbours the other day and thats what he said.I explained that wfp isnt rubbish, but was like trying to explain to a child. I dont have any animosity towards trad, I do some properties trad myself, so this attitude is hard to fathom. I know another tradder whos been a mate for years who I know bad mouths wfp to any/all of his customers who are about. Ive managed to convert some, who previously would never have used a wfp windy, but i just find it annoying that you got people out there putting your method down to potential customers.

Some are scared of change. Also the extra time needed to convert which leads to not making as much money in the meantime and the set up costs put many off.

I’m still trad but moving over soon. People slate what they don’t understand. I wouldn’t worry about it, let him crack on.

Also its the fact im in a localised kind of area, and a lot of old people who chat to eachother, getting told wrongly about wfp and then spreading the lies and scaring people off. Some ive manged to convince, but a lot dont trust it. One conversion I got, I showed her the dirty guttering and explained how that could be a thing of the past via wfp. That sold it to her.

I remember when I wasn't sold on the idea myself. I don't remember badmouthing it myself as I was one of the first to switch to WFP in the area that I work. However, I had to make the switch or give up window cleaning due to an accident that meant I couldn't use ladders anymore.

Fortunately I had a round that was well established and the majority of my customers trusted that I was happy with the system even though my trust was based solely on the experience of others at that point.

Only four of my customers left me because they couldn't believe it would work. However, I gained all but one of these back when their new window cleaner fell off his ladder four years later and had to retire from window cleaning due his age and injuries.

I have come across the odd person that has been prejudiced against it by a trad cleaner and won't even entertain the idea, but it's not many.

I've also had some that have checked that I do use WFP before engaging my services as they don't want someone using a ladder on their property.

I never slated it to customers bit used to be dead against stick wiggling before I tried it.

Had 1 woman once come out and ask about cleaning her windows then saw the pole and said "oh I thought you did it the proper way don't give me a quote".

That really boils my pi$$ as this is a lot better way and we don't spend a fortune to play at window cleaning .

Winds me up people like that.

Bit my tongue and walked away.

Seeing is believed. Have a mate who's still trad and he came round to speak to me while I'm doing a standard house with a conservatory.

He asks if I've been doing a conny deep clean, nope that's just how good the frames stay with wfp I smugly replied. They just cant get their head around it until they see its results.

The very words "those poles are rubbish" says it all, clearly absolutely no idea whatsoever what wfp is all about, not just the cleaning but also equipment and water production process and as above a die hard tradder is hard pushed to part with serious cash.

True, Ive spoke to other tradders who are fine, but this feller, I guess hes one of them who feels threatened by it.

Same here over the years I had one guy laugh at the cost involved then he ended up converting just last year so 11 years later plus one who I assume felt threatened and never spoke to me once in nearly 9 years but approached me for advice on making the switch.
