So you'd recommend the s plus with the black diamond?

If i was still using the s channels i would.use unger soft personally

The s plus is an awful channel and i would use standard s channels or cut the stupid attempt at dogearing off and use a slightly smaller channel

How is your angle? I find if the angle of the rubber to glass is too steep or too shallow I get streaks.

I have just started cleaning, I'm using a Moerman excelerator with liquidator and razr red. I'm getting a good result and no visible streaks (not in this light anyway) However I am paranoid that when I turn the squeegee on the window i can see faint lines, I don't know whether this comes down to technique, rubber or solution?

Even thought they did evaporate I was wondering whether you would still see them In direct sunlight. Plus it took them a while to evaporate so maybe not as faint as I described.

After a some extensive reading last night I came to the conclusion It was either A. Putting in too much soap B.Recieved some bad red rubber

This morning I've reduced the soap amount dramatically and used the red rubber and still faint lines. So i put the soft Moerman rubber back in the channel (originally swapped it over as I was having a nightmare with it) to find that was a major improvement, rarely left a small line and the lines disappear altogether when I roll my wrist towards the edge I am travelling towards slightly. So because I hear that Moerman soft wears out fairly quickly, I will probably get some black diamond as I hear good things.

Or not wetting the tips of the rubber,that's why these experienced guys cut a falso line when starting with the blade (I think)

Either way,I also do it now and avoids lines as much and gives more slip on glass...and therefore less chance of lines/judder

I've been doin' this for a long time now, and I must say that in all the different channel rubbers I've had, I have never had a bad one. I get lines sometimes even now, but you work a way round them, so maybe it's just experience. I don't think it is a soap problem, unless you are using a cheap one (you can apply washing up liquid directly to an applicator and it will still work, although you will end up with a load of suds after a bit).

I don't even wipe or shake my rubber between windows

If the technique is good there is no need

I always start in the middle of the glass somewhere to lube it up also

When mopping leave couple of mm from edge of glass as to not overload the rubber, no disrespect and think this may be the way forward for me, But if the windows dirty in the corners and a lot of the time I find it is, will the squeegee remove this when you pull the liquid over.

If you soap up 1cm from the edge the blade will still clean the edges on maintenance cleans but not if filthy

If it is a clean window sometimes i only soap up the middle without touching the edges and that is fine as the blade will have enough solution on it if you start in the middle somewhere

I find Liquidator blades better if soap right up to the edge of the window. Don't know if the Unger S channel is the same?

Your nearly right mr Green but for someone who isnt too experienced using soap will show what he is leaving behind and when hes competent then GG4 is the way..

Also if its a 1st clean you would get the frames cleaned as well as edge of glass at same time minimising dirty corners etc
