Trad to wfp

Lol, I'm flipping glad its only 42!! I don't think I would have the time and patients to deal with an ro system!

Anyway, I was using the pole today on some work. Will take some getting used to! Was getting caught in plants, bottoms of gutters, pulling people wee solar powered lights out etc was cracking me up. 1 of my connections on hose reel is pants and it burst off soaking my jeans and the back of the van. Hit head off the brush and soaked myself even more. Un tangling knots in the hose and need somewhere good to store pole hose. Plus its been raining most of the day. Will definitely be purchasing a back pack for the backs.

On the bright side I think the resi neck with swivel is a good job, and was glad I didn't need my heavy triples. I will never use them for cleaning windows again

Is it alright if you can PM with

What set up do you have for wfp?

Can you tell me how much you spent?

And how you finding the transitions from Trad to WFP

What about the people who you have that prefer Trad to WFP?

Thanks =)

I don't mind, was gonna PM you first but thought mayaswell ask you on here.

Thing is tho, I would like a WFP system, but, for time been, on residential, I like Trad, I like climbing up ladders. Its a skill that cant be lost which was said by two of my customers, I know I cant do some houses with Trad, but there are other houses I can.

I would like a WFP system tho for commercial work, I know it will cost me but a couple of commercial contracts will pay it off after a couple of cleans.

I have a 350lt tank, 11lt do vessel, 100m 8mm microbore, I also bought a pump box, which has a shurflo 100psi pump, with a sureflow pump controller ( I chose this controller as they are under warranty and easily fixed locally if anything goes wrong ) plus a 20amp battery with a split charge relay.. I wanted to build this myself but paid a few extra quid just to have it done properly. I had an auto spark wire it up to the van battery.

I chose a gardiners clx 27, with a stiff sill brush and a super lite medium dual trim.. Sill brush I only got for PVC cleaning, super lite for windows. Also got a resi neck with swivel which I think is great.

All in I have spent around £1200, including a few connections, taps I didn't mention above.

I have a new shopping list of a bayersan 30ft just for PVC cleaning, a clx 18 with a backpack so I can have 2 people on the poles at once.

Today was the first I have used the pole on my run and only used it for a few bigger houses and houses I needed triples for. I only seen one customer and she never even mentioned using the pole and neither did I, she paid with her usual £2 tip. I won't see the others until thurs/fri. But I did go back a few hours later to the first I done and the windows were spotless.

Last week I mentioned to around 20 odd customers that I would be using the pole next time I was around and not 1 queried it, I just said we invested in the pole system as we can clean all your frames aswell as the glass andOne said happy days, few said I don't care as long as you clean them.

I am confident that all my loyal customers Iv had for years won't have a problem. Maybe a few of the newer customers or oldies with query it and moan about leaving glass soaked.

I won't be using the pole everywhere tho, mainly all the high, over roofs, dangerous windows and most tops and as there is 3 of us and only 1 pole at the mo we will be trading too.

I always said the pole is Swear word!, how can you be sure the window is clean when ur 20 odd foot below? But that's when I had never even used one. I recently picked up a good lot of work that will cover cost of the pole in 2 months and it is work that should be done by pole. Really this site pushed me to the decision to just go for it. I now have no problem accessing all windows I do. I am not putting myself at danger or taking stupid risks. Now I have seen the results I know it's money well spent. And if no one likes it then they will have to find a new guy and I'll replace them.

To cut a long story short, yes mate go for it you won't regret it.

Should ave videod it all. Sounds hilarious

Check out gardiners videos on the resi neck swivel, it sort of allowed you to keep the brush horizontal while the pole is at angles, for reaching over roofs from the side. Yea watch the video haha

Sounds like I need something like that I will check it out what's the damage for one ££££££

Only about a tenner or so. There are two types 1 and 2, one is a screw on think for most poles, other it slides into the end of my clx, not sure if that's just a gardiners thing??
