Which back pack

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I've got the gardiners one, no complaints 22ltr capacity when full to brim, fairly heavy to lug about and a 16ltr one which is a bit lighter and manageable if carrying.

My advice get one with a proper handle for carrying, unlike the wcw big boy back pack or others with the handle in the lid.

Water genie backpacks are good, had mine 2 years and still runs as well as on day 1, I use it all day every day. Comes with a trolley, but the trolley won't take daily abuse, better for occasional use. I would recommend a sack truck for any backpack, they're bloody heavy full!

My Gardiner back pack broke after 6 months. Quite a few people have issues with them but overall they are probably the best rated. I believe the issue with mine is the switch and its under warranty, I just need to get around to sorting it.

I have 2 of the Big Boy II back packs. One I use for degreaser and the other for window cleaning. So far so good with them. They feel a little cheaper than the Gardiner ones to be honest but then I found the Gardiner one digs into my shoulders when carrying it. Also I feel less like a ghostbuster while using the Big Boy.

If you're starting out and this will be your only water delivery system I would suggest building or buying a trolley system. If you are adding this to compliment an existing system then whatever you buy get two of them incase one breaks.

You don't use it on your back do you?

Just stick it on the floor with.20m of hose

I don't even keep the straps on mine

On a couple of occasions its been handy as an actual back pack. One time I had to park about 500 metres from a woman house because of a curry delivery driver. Used it as a backpack and carried a 25L container down. After that I bought a sack truck. We were doing a cladding clean recently and my little brother used the chemical one as a back pack because it worked for him. Also I use it as a back pack if i'm carrying it through a customers house, its neat and tidy and I can take everything through in one trip.

Also, while I think of it, some more backpack feedback. The Big Boy is not ideal to use as an actual back pack because the switch is on the front so you really do have to mess around to turn it on. The Gardiner switch is on the side and much easier to manage. Never become a problem for me as I only use the straps to transport it but if you want to use it as a back pack while working it would be.
