Hi & welcome @paul1

It is really down to personal choice what type of wfp trolley you go for. However speaking from experience they are a real pain in the arse for everyday work. Myself in hindsight I should have just gone for a decent size van & wfp van mount in the back of the van instead of struggling as I find a van mount so much better to use.

For the price you pay for a purfreedom 50 litre trolley (£606.00 inc vat) you could buy a good size baffled water tank, new leisure battery, new 5 lpm 100 psi pump, new controller and hose reel if you shop around.

I defo would not want to lug about a 50 litre trolley either.

Thanks a lot guys anymore comments or advice greatly appreciated.

I was looking at the skyvac for gutters - any comments

also the stremaclean for conservatory cleaning

I welcome greatly anymore advice all new to me this its so confusing all the companies saying theres is the best to go for etc??? thanks

I currently use the Pure Freedom 50ltr trolley and its a very good bit of kit but annoying having to get it out and set it up each time, particularly as I'm currently working out of VW Polo (somehow) so it only just squeezes in through the side door. Hopefully getting a van soon which will make life far easier on that front. Its maybe a bit pricey but does exactly what you want it to.

After four months since changing to wfp I think I have finally cracked it.

I have used three different hose and three types of taps.

My system now consists of a pure freedom 25l trolley and a Gardiners SLX22 pole. I have 40 metres of streamline lite-5 hose on a reel attatched to my trolley all the way through my aquadapter to my brush. So I have no connections to worry about and nothing to catch on bushes, etc. I find the lite-5 hose the best by far. There are hardly any kinks and it is much more supple.

I drive a Ford Focus, and can fit my trolley and four barrels in the boot, with two more barrels on the back seat. I use one barrel an hour, so have plenty of water. As I only need a ladder for going over garages to get to back gardens, I have disposed of my double ladders, and now use a Youngman's telescopic ladder, which also goes in the back.

As Smurf said everybody is different. Personally I love the trolley system. After thirty years of trad cleaning, I am not going home knackered, and find the results great.

Hi jackjoewill, what reel do you use and how do you attach it to your trolley please? Cheers

I must agree with Smurf. I started years ago with a Car and a trolley system from Peter Fogwill. I quickly got tired of lugging the 25l barrels about. I then made my own Van Mount from the trolley i broke down. Made life a lot easier. Then bought an Astravan with 350l tank.Outgrew it after 3 years as I'm very busy and have just bought a Vivaro with 650l tank in back. Go for a good size Van with a large tank because you will get busy and regret not having done it sooner. I know I did. I use Gardiners poles and brushes. Not cheap but good quality stuff.

MikeL, photo's as promised.

Everything I need for the day, including my radio for TalkSport.

Thanks to Jimmyboot for his help with my reel and Neil and others who advised me to get the aqua-dapter.

Took these photo's while waiting for the rain to pass. Hope they help.

Use a 15l trolley and have a load of 25l barrels in the back of pick up, the trolley has a long hose so I only set it up twice, once at the front once at the back and find 15l is enough for an average house.

Looking at a van mount but so far haven't felt the need as a lot of the houses I have I can't see how having a van mount would be any quicker.

I have a pure freedom 25 litre trolley and get on fine with it. However, for customer service I would look at xline or gardiners as their customer service is excellent.

Van vs trolley I think it's more down to ergonomics using a van mount rather than speed myself as I'm not getting any younger.

What use to constantly do my head in using a trolley system was the following:

At home - Having to prat about filling individual containers of pure water every day. Then having to lug the containers into what vehicle I was using at the time. Then afterwards having to take them all out of the vehicle afterwards and start all over again.

On the job - Having to lug a trolley about the streets. Then having to keep stopping & having to walk back and forth to the vehicle to swap containers over.

Most think to use a hose reel on the trolley so they don't have to move it about so much. In doing so it virtually becomes a van mount with a tiny tank now.

My life has been made much easier ergonomicaly for me using a van mount as it's as simple as pump pure straight into a van tank, pull up at a job, run hose out and away I go...

By the way I still am using a purefreedom trolley but stacic in the van now instead and what a difference it makes.

For instance if you are talking about speed now I would have been pratting around for ages trying to get this job done yesterday just using a trolley and 25 ltr containers without employing a water boy.

Think I've got it now
Thanks very much for the pictures. They're very helpful. I've been cleaning trad for 20 years and want a simple transition to wfp without having to buy a van. I appreciate the advantages of a van and van mount but think the trolley option will be best for now as trying to keep things simple and cheap! I've got a Gardiner backpack and slx-25 with aquadapter but really like your Pure Freedom trolley with reel set up. Thanks again for your time /emoticons/smile.png

If you have a look in the diy section you will find old posts on using a backpack on a sack truck with a hose reel.

Thanks guys, was also looking at the purefreedom trolley for now would you say it was better than the xline version? and is the gardiner poles and brushes the way to go as someone else did actually mention these to me and said would never use anything else now???

Did fancy the van route too but I would have to change my car and then the cost on top of that and have a young daughter to transport around too, maybe in the future if I ever get going that is lol

You can also just buy a small pump box for about £130 and stick it on a folding stack truck and get yourself some container for free at the local car wash place too. Works out much cheaper than buying a new pf trolley for sure.
