I've got ramsey ladders too and my father's used them for 34 years. Very good laddersYes I have Ramsay ladders Bob. They are solid! So I'd say they will be heavier than other brands,which has obvious pro's and obvious con's, so you got to weigh it up.
For me personally I'd rather put up with the extra weight knowing I'm working on something that's bomb proof. I bought mine too big deliberately, as they had a splayed bottom section on them,that was no good to me,as I needed to fit a basemate too them.
I've also fitted two telescopic stabiliser arms to the sides making them super safe!

Yeah there are some things you don't want cheap. Ladders are one of them. They need to be strong and safeI can imagine that they will last much longer than cheaper,lighter ladders too?
When I started up,I bought a cheap pair from ebay,but it wasn't too long before I got too nervous to work on them! Far too much bendy stuff going on! [emoji15]
