Is a piece of wood needed with these ladder stoppers?

Do u just put them individually under ladders feet or better with a bit of wood like in photo?

I have drilled holes in my ladder stoppers so I can tie  wire/rope between them to make carrying easier. Remember you have to carry what you need.

I like to fix a piece of wood on decking to stop the ladder slipping especially when wet. My window ladder has a wheeled standoff permanently fixed on top of ladder. At the bottom I have bolted on rubber feet and never have a problem with movement.

Just rest feet on the metal bits?

If decking is wet and slippery then I wouldn't put a ladder up at all also check the decking isn't rotten
