It's really interesting to see that some of us works in the rain and others don't. When we went WFP. We explained to everybody about working the rain and we have done for 3 years now.

Not had one complaint. We do have around 10 customers who have stated never clean when it's raining. But they told us that when we was trad.

Nice one...

Still a nice little earner for you then Shazzy but I bet those windows where minging?

Did you trad or wfp the outside of the glass then have to trad the inside aswell for that price?

It was a one off infant school. Only took 5 hours too. Im in south east.

I am pretty sure I know the answer already but I will ask anyway.

why can you clean wfp in the rain but not tradd?

I don't have any problems myself from customers cleaning windows in light rain as they all know how the system works and understand the quality of the clean would not be affected. However heavy rain and/or high winds and rain now that is a different story as **** can get back onto the clean glass so I tend to not work then.

Once a window has been cleaned a few times with wfp the window has no film.

Rain water has low PPM mostly less than 10ppm. But more importantly doesn't contain some of the chemicals or minerals that causes potting. So when the rain water hits glass it's like pure water.

Trad cleaning leaves a "film" on the glass. When it rains the water reacts with the film. Making windows spot.

Windows stay cleaner longer with WFP.

Indeed they do Damo which is another good reason why some have their windows cleaned less frequent as most new wfp users find out.

It was not uncommon for trad cleaners on domestic to clean every 2 weeks a few years back but that has now changed in most areas now too.

Yes, that point has been made before and it's a good point but, the other point is, we know the job is affected by weather before we become window cleaners. Like a long distance lorry driver will know that his job will mean seeing less of his family than a 9-5 would. Becoming an Icecream man will leave you short of work in the winter months and so will gardening. Life as a nurse will lead to long hours and night shifts and so on. It has to be one of the first things any of us consider when thinking of starting this job...what about when it rains. Yes, you could become a window cleaner and clean windows in the rain but, you could also become a copper and sell smack.

Yes that is true but I cleane my customers windows on the same days every 2 weaks and rougfully the same time they are just happy I provide them with a regular service and there window are cleaned to a high standard

every two weeks!! I am having difficulty picking up monthlys, almost everyone is wanting every 2 months
Depends on how you sell the service and prices.

95% are 5 weeks for us

It was just outsides. wfp. Was not difficult at all. They were quite dirty inside, so was hard to see if the dirt was in or out.

When I priced the school last week, I did not expect to get the job, as £200 is a lot of money I expect for a school. Also last year they used the "most known" window cleaner in my area, Not sure why they left him. Lets hope they are pleased and use me again next year.

I might now email all the schools in the area, No harm in trying. lol
