Dissapointing week thus far, got thru my first cleans, no more windows to clean for a week now, did a couple of short stints canvassing in different areas and nothing, seems like theres no one in on weekdays, then lost a custie who was messing me a bout with payment. Got a bit down about it today, seems im easily deflated.

Anyway will just keep trying to do an hour canvassing in diff areas here and there and keep plodding on

Hope to get a couple of hours canvassing in tomorrow

cant wait for light evenings, as surely canvassing must be better on an evening, knocked for an hour today and i must have had 8 people answer the door, all got windys

One day @adamangler you will look back on this as a distant fuzzy memory. It will be a time when you get 3 calls a day and you get interrupted whilst working to talk to people requiring quotes.

Yesterday I was stopped twice to give a quote, this amounted to £50 worth of work. I got home to three messages left on the answerphone wanting quotes. Today I have had two more phone calls , so five decent sounding jobs that I will quote tomorrow, and I'm not really looking for any work. The more you do, the more you get seen around, the more enquiries you will get. Sign-write your vehicle and sort yourself a website. It will happen, just keep at it.

Cheers SPC, i know your right, it just seems such a long tedious road lol, i have signwriting and a website, could do with a better site though, mine ranks top page in my my area but its not the best visually. Its just slow atm, pick up a custie or two, lose a messer or two, sometimes its two steps forward one back, other times it feels like 1 step forward 3 back lol. Im only out for a couple of hours a few days a week so dont really get walk ups.. i know what you mean though, i just need to get to about 100 custies so i can do it full time and get stuck in proper, cant wait..

hmmmm you want some of my six monthers...about three came in this week I had forgot about and thought they were long gone...

custys are funny creatures...i have just had a two day text marathon with one....and it was...a fiver...

he even wanted me to call him so he could tell me where he had left the money ....I found it in seconds....so no one in money in my pocket and nice easy job...

even if it is every six months.../emoticons/biggrin.png

put another in my sat nav and sat nav says no....

yep time to update it...

turns out to be on a new estate I have done first cleans on so may all be okay.

I posted about fred the other day and she is now cleaned she said she had about four leaflets through and a windy insisting he does her windows as he does forty on the estate...

sorry but fred is all mine:D

That's the flyers finished, paid for and picked up. Thoughts? The coloured box in the middle is a "Twitter blue" but appears different in the photo.

£104 for 5000 at my local printers. Circular flow of income and all that

@adamangler if your site is already ranking top in your area, that's half the battle won! /emoticons/smile.png Are you looking to improve the site at all, or is that on the back-burner for the moment?
Hi its self made and now ranks top 3 for the keywords I want but visually its not great so yes but my city is not highly searched for my keywords according to Google keyword tool

Poor week this week. Had plenty of spare time but only managed to knock once for half hour. Went out today but bottled it after half a dozen doors just couldn't get comfy.

Think I have 50 custies now which is 10 more than last month but im making this a lot harder than It needs to be just wish I could knock doors ffs lol

No, one miserable old git, two others who had the same cleaner at £5. think it wasnt a great area all bungalows with no cold calling signs on, lot of old people, every window looked very clean, saw a couple of trad cleaners in the next street, old estate car type.

Think im going to stick to the new build type estates, feel more confident on those, they tend o be younger people with a bit more money to spend.

i shall try again another day

saw a couple of trad cleaners in the next street, old estate car type.
the "old estate car type" comment made me chuckle, i remember how in the early days i was so jealous of the old salt types in Hyundai lantra estates . they looked to have all the peachey work while i had only scraps
7 yrs later with 3 workers on board i still see them about , still respect them , but am never jealous one bit of them now

Yeh just seemed the kind of guy that was doing the old dears at a fiver a pop, chatting, cups of tea etc. Old school well established guy that was happy getting by taking it easy etc. Not the guy I want to be hence why ill stick to the bigger new build types the areas I think. Im generally finding bungalows and old people to be more prehistoric with pricing

ademangler did u ever play a game wen young ...

knock a door run away ??? try it except dont run

i found it hard but my method is ...

listen to gd music for half hour before i go out clean shaven and smellin gd

Thank peter, i managed half hour today, i have tried logoed jumper and worktrousers and i have tried normal smart clothes, defo nore confident in work gear i tend to have my flyers in my hands though, i tend to get nervous and it gives me something to fiddle with,

Way ive found best so far is pretend your working in the area, a bit of pointing at a random house lol make me feel more pro.

Also i feel much more confident when the suns out rather than dark and miserable, i dont know whether thats because people are generally in a better mood when sunny or because people will start to think about there windows wen the sun comes out

great news ur getting there remember 5-7pm is golden hours people who have money are home and they want a clean house I take payment from cah cheque and paypal

Nothing wrong with estate car type window cleaners

I am using a car at the mo and looking for a van

Don't mean i am taking it easy though..unless up to 20 houses a day is easy lol

And i am not cheap

Sod the clean shaven smart clothes look

I door knock when i finish in the afternoons wearing what i am working in

Take cloths out my pouch and chuck some cards a notepad and a pen in it instead and off i go

Then it looks like you are already working round there
