@Hunty what I would do then is tell the manager/owner (whoever it is your are dealing with) that it would be very rare to find a window cleaner with the correct equipment to be able to undertake the job, and because of that you are only willing to do the job if they sign a contract stating you do Atleast 3 cleans. That way if you spend 1k on a pole then at least you'll get your money back and some...

So get a contract signed, preferably once every 6 months, and state a minimum amount of cleans..

Also plug the fact that specialist equipment needs to be used, and that you will get this equipment if they agree to the terms...

Exactly.

Thanks for all the replies again.

I can't sub out as the director likes the idea that I am a local lad and he likes the quality of my work as I clean his windows which was how I got in.

Looking at the cost of the poles if it is 100ft then I more looking at 2k plus and I don't have the money for that, as I would not make it back on this clean, so that would not work.

I think I need to give some more thought now as whilst the contract is great idea and I think workable if I can't afford the pole before I start it won't work.

Earlier it was said maybe do this one on the cherry and future cleans can be done with a pole and pocket the extra money for future cleans this is now seeming a little more appealing.

Aargh how is window cleaning so stressful I changed my career to do this as I found it therapeutic!!!

Surely don't need 100foot? I thought maybe 70? should be able to get one around the grand mark maybe cheaper, first clean would cover that I would think?

gardiners do an 83 foot pole1200 pound plus vat with your reach might go to 87 feet
Thing with this is the cheaper one weighs 60-70kg now one day like this is fine but 9 hours 5 day weekly be a bit of a killer plus I plan to

Do my normal rounds before I start this soay be too much for just little me.

I am a little taller than 4feet though lmao

Did I read earlier that they were to be cleaned every 6/12 months? 100 feet high, minging, outlay for a very expensive pole, probably doing it at a loss for 3 cleans maybe? I know what I'd do.

Yes but there are some access issues with a few windows so I will need to stand a fair bit back from building to get to some of them so I don't think 70 would cut it

Yes but I am quoting for 8 blocks and the are 40 in total I was told if good job after price agreed I would get stan at the lot.

hunty I think your idea of going with the cherry picker and seeing how it works out first is the best idea as you can always shop for the pole later.../emoticons/biggrin.png

and if you did get the lot....its maybe time to get a little help in...

personally....I would ask shazzy.....oh that was just a dream I had...back to the matrix..

If yearly no, I think it would take a week for the 9 blocks the more I think about it, if that the case 5 weeks or one month for the lot and potential of 5-10k for that month work if I really needed another to come with an do the lower floor could shave a week or so off this month so not bad potential but I do see what you are saying and my worry is maybe I am bit in off more than I can personally chew but I really do not like regrets if you see what I am tryin to say.

Completely agree I think this is my only option and even if I don't get the rest or even asked back it is not the end of the world and I am not out of pocket!!

If he's got 40 blocks to be cleaned surly he will be getting more then one quote ...... And like you said he likes your cleaning why can't you just quote all 40 then you can buy your pole

Thats my personal opinion though
