I'd suggest that overall government policy hasn't changed. In as much that they want to flatten the curve and create herd immunity. Therefore total lockdown was never desired from the off. But the initial reaction to them openly talking of herd immunity went down very badly - so they simply stopped talking about it (in public). All the confusion that's been created from policy and restrictions I'd (strongly) suggest have been purposely done.  The way things are now won't alter much in the coming weeks. And to be fair to the government they're trying to balance everything from saving lives, to limiting the economic damage, to the socioeconomic factors such as civil unrest.

Don't fight each other guys. The fights out there. Stick together.

Just ask yourselves what value you think you're adding on the forum by justifying working or flogging those who say they are working. If you wanna work then work. If you don't then don't. The circular conversation that keeps appearing on this thread has become very tiresome and it's adding no value for anyone. It's a bun fight....that nobody is winning or will win! Not looking to offend anyone - simply encouraging the dislogue to move on.

Let's start discussing ideas how we can work together to help one another. This recession is going to be like nothing any of us have ever experienced. 'Problems are not solved in the framework in which they were created. Are we ready? How will we adapt? How strong is your business model? How good is your customer relationships? Etc, etc. And ask yourself what flaws this has exposed in your business. And how you might address that going forward. What am I doing to get through this and still have a business in the coming months/years? How could that help others? And vice versa. The whole world and the global economy is being reset by this. But Ctrl Alt delete hasn't even been hit yet! But it's time to start the process of building for the future.

Peace and love!!

spot on. No more knocking eachothers choices. You go or you dont, thats that.

I can’t put cards through doors but Boris Johnson can send 30 million letters, which will end up in the most vulnerable of homes....go figure that one.

On a serious note, I just seen a post on twitter that got great feedback, of someone stating their window cleaner canvassed his customers, adhered to social distancing and gave his customers the option of whether to be cleaned or not.

Some have said they don’t want done but will pay him anyway, some have declined but thanked him for his concern and some have said he should continue as is.

That is the approach I will take tomorrow. If they don’t happen to be home they don’t get cleaned.

Right or wrong most will do what they see as the right thing.

@dazmond put a good post up on the other forum. The post details how his Dad has a confirmed case of Coronavirus but was still carrying on as normal (going to the paper shop being with family)he had it confirmed Thursday.

Two weeks a go I was cleaning a clinic just when this was starting to break and my customer said the elderly are some of the worst for ignoring the procedures. Most(not all) are looking at it as they have had a good innings and they will carry on as normal if Coronavirus gets them so be it time was almost up anyway. My own Grandad was collecting his paper and paying in cash up and till a week or so.

And this is the important point. You may take every precaution going but you can't guarantee your customers are doing the same and won't infect you then with the different people you could see being a domestic window cleaner the risk and spread will be much, much higher.

Chaos is another word for confusion. So you've not noticed any confusion? For example on this forum maybe.

They did change their guidance and that causes confusion. The official GOV.UK/ Twitter said for about an hour after the PMs speech that the only workers that could leave the home were Key Workers. The person/boffin typing the info out will not be making it up as they go along. They would be typing what they are told to from a government official. Key workers only is not a spelling mistake. So that brings up the question, why did they change their minds?

Here's said GOV UK. official guideline that was changed. It's confusing isn't it? Chaotic some might say

This looks like another example of the fake news being spread around on FB. People are photoshopping original pictures to say "If you're a key worker". The confusion is caused by trolls. I read about the picture you've posted in the express, it contradicted what he said in his speech and was replaced within an hour of posting. There is an abundance of posts from MP's including senior cabinet ministers clarifying overnight. This kind of thing is only being peddled by ?️?'s on FB who want to take a snipe at people trying to feed their family.

Just to add, I am aware this picture is legit and was replaced sharpish. There are examples of photoshopped ones though.

I read a report this morning, corona virus is related to the common cold. The reason the cold come back every year is that once you have caught the virus you immunity only last for several months. When SARS came to light people who contracted gain immunity for a couple of years. At moment science as no idea where Corona19 will sit in this. But if it follows the same pattern as the comman cold which is a real possibility then current government guide lines round the world will only protract the length of time the virus will remain in society. This could and probably would leave to a reinfection of the people who have had and survived, so a vaccine may be the only way out of this, roll on 18 months.

Yes that's the legit version and notice it was already at 8000 views.  My original post about a 'week in politics' was just a lighthearted take on the Government.

I thought we were all in this together, how can you rip a pensioner off? Unforgivable.
He has underlying health issues and asked me to buy him a couple of face masks. I had a box in van but they were not PP3 so I went on Amazon and found PP3 masks but they were over £8 each so I bought 2 of them because all the rest were sold out. So I charged my customer £16 but it cost me more than that. How can I rip someone off when I lost money by doing such a kind gesture? Anyhow, he now realises how lucky he is to have them because they are sold out. In my life I have only ever helped folk because I am a constant reader of mainly human behaviour but to tell someone the Truth will Hurt them until Realisation sets in. That's why all my friends come to me for serious advice they know I will tell them the Truth and probably Hurt their feelings. Anyhow, I believe we will see a turn around from 1st April.

Not a bad price either considering the price of the ones for nhs etc.
Prevents you touching your eyes, nose n mouth, which is the only entry points you can get virus.  You can wear gloves touch one of those areas,u get virus, wear a mask, but touch your eye,you get virus.  Wash those hands for 20 secs with soap n no touchy face.

Need an alarm system that you wear on head, n a transmitter on both hands, ,that detects hand coming close to face, either alarm, or a turned down tazer would be better.
