On another note just ordered a univalve as I waste so much water when finishing the tops and shortening the pole back down for the bottoms. Are they easy enough to fit?

Thank you
Yes they are easy. You need a clip on the gooseneck to prevent it pulling on the brush connectors.

Yeh it's arriving today and was reading how to install them. Abit disappointing that it doesn't come with the required 5mm 'O rings' though. As I just paid £45 for the univalve and delivery and 3 0 rings would be about an extra 20p.

So now had to order the o rings separately which will mean won't get the univalve up and running till next week.

That’s a shame. They could have told you. Although if your using the green pu hose you don’t need the o clips. You just need something for gooseneck.

Not entirely clear what the clean is, is just the conny or the conny and the sun lounge with glazed roof panels plus all the windows in the photo, if it's really dirty you could be there hours, you need to work at a decent price, if the custy does get it done every 2 months and you can blitz the next clean in an hour then all is good but the first clean should have been double at least if they haven't been cleaned in a while

Someone today has asked me that I clean there soffits aswell as there windows. I know the soffits are just the underside of the fascias but would you guys clean the fascias aswell? And would you clean the side of the house where it goes up into a triangle as there will be a white board there but no soffit.

Just I think if I just cleaned the undersides they would still look mucky as the fascia will still be dirty?

Thanks

All the whites: high barges, gutters (external), fascias, soffits, downpipes, windows and doors. In that order, from top down and charge accordingly. No half jobs. Would you wash the bottom half of your car but not the top?

Make sure you make it clear in writing exactly what you'll be doing, ie not emptying gutters unless asked and paid for. Keep notes for yourself incase of arguments and for future reference. You may be repeating in a year or two time and you probably won't otherwise remember what you charged, or how long it took.

Some folk will try it on. Not saying that is the case on this occasion.

I wouldn't only clean the soffits, I'd clean the fascias as well. As long as you have a sufficient price then it won't take long. Fascias are easy to clean, the soffits can be slightly tricky, if you've never cleaned them before.

With regards to the cladding/weatherboarding - charge them for that, if they want that cleaning. Explain to them how it will look if you only did the soffit but I'm sure they're intending for fascias and soffits. Just clarify with them first.

Don't do the fascias and cladding for free because "it looks right". That's for the customer to decide. If you think that cleaning all three sections is going to be done within an hour, then charge them for an hour. Cover yourself.

Another thing is, I have a big glass roof conservatory job tommorrow. It's my only job of the day and will be armed with about 400 litres of purified water, my wfp and microfibres. Is there any tips people can give me. I have not booked anything else in all day so I don't feel rushed . Is it just a case of keep scrubbing and rinsing with pure water?

I have seen some people say use a squeegee on a pole to drag off the bits after soaking then scrubbing.

Use customers tap if available and only use pure to finish off.

Will an SLX 30 reach the fourth floor on new build houses? I've tried to buy the extension number 7 but they are sold out ?.

Got 2 new customers who live in the 4 story new builds on a new estate next week and really not sure of it will reach.

Any ideas?

Thank you

There are so many variables , slope of land ,height of building etc but all the 4 storey stuff we do takes a minimum pole length of 35 feet , but you might get away with it , all you can do is try it .

Your height will be a factor as well, we have an SLX25 that reaches 3rd floor, fully extended, so with an SLX30 we would just be able to reach 3rd floor windows by standing closer and working around shoulder height, both my son and I are 6'5" though. This is doable for a few houses but very hard work if you do it for any period of time.

All the above is assuming that the garden doesn't slope away.

I'm 6 foot 2 so may be pushing it. I would have just ordered the extension so I always had it but a tad frustrating it's out of stock ?

I'm 6'2" and do my townhouses with a 20ft pole quite easily.

It all depends on the individual houses.

Some skylights I can do with 25ft some I need 30ft.

For example I do all 3 on the right with a 20ft pole and a stretch as can't be bothered to get extension out.

How do you go about the juliet's? Best you can or bin them off ?
I use a gardiners pole so with the tight ones that you can’t fit your brush through naturally you can turn the brush vertical rather than horizontal using the quick lock system. I’ve even got second floor juliets using this method.
