This Happened today and im not sure what to think of it...what do you guys think....

Over view.

1, new build customer agrees a price of £18 for detached new build

2 customer has an all glass conservatory built on the back, virtually full width and about 12ft depth from house. lots of big panes and big doors.

3, all that extra glass is going to up you price to £23...customer agrees.

4, after 3 months gets a message, can you call round i think you have missed a bit, no problem that's part of my service.

5, we cleaned the inside of the glass conservatory roof but there's still dirt on the outside of the roof...yes i don't do your roof, just your windows.

6, today.....
Just wanted to talk to you about adding our roof to the regular cleaning....

That's gonna really bump up your price....

Oh i don't want to pay more than the £23 ....

Whys it going to cost so much...

So went into the ins and outs of how long it takes to clean the vertical glass on a window opposed to a glass roof with a shallow angle and two sides that will need the ladder out for. also explained i could do her entire house in less time than it would take to do the roof, so said to her you'd be looking at an additional £30 for the roof (its not a small roof and awkward to get to the sides)

But you clean the top windows and all the muck goes onto the conservatory roof and looks a mess.

To be fair you bought a conservatory with a glass roof
oh ill have to get someone else then im afraid :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

ok fill your boots

has anyone else had a customer want there glass conservatory roof doing for no extra cost...beyond belief some people

Funnily enough I had a lady on tuesday (a new custy) who wanted her house cleaned it was a 3 bed semi also with conny. No mention of cleaning the plastic roof I quoted £25. She accepted. After the clean she asked if I had done the conny roof to which I replied "no you only stated that you wanted your windows done" I then said that would be an additional 50 quid and I could do it next time. She seemed totally fine about this.

Thats a typical crafty customer something for nothing. should ask her what she does for a living and put the terms her way on the other foot, can't imagine a scheduled maintenance clean on windows above would cause a mess shes probably got **** coming off main roof onto conny roof sounds like hard work and a moany messer buddy

People think it takes 2 mins, I've had people say give it a quick going over. I asked him if he's wanting it cleaned or some water thrown over it, he said cleaned offcourse. I said well it's not a quick going over kind of job.
I had a few custys say while your here can you clean this part of facias or porch hoods lol or one lady i cleaned windows for have done for a year or 2 now said i know my windows have been done but did you do my wall light can you clean that next time you come please. Had one older lady want me to unblock her toilet by opening outside soil pipe ? thats sanitary love i said ,you'll need a plumber, i thought im not caking myself in your ? or dealing with the clean up

I've been stung a few times helping old ones with things. I'd never refuse if an old one asked for help with something tbh, it doesn't happen to often though, you can be there for ages trying to help them with something, it's when it's not really urgent il say to them il pop bye later tonight when I'm taking the dog out as I've no tools with me, they then say oh I've got that somewhere, then spend ages trying to find it.

Yep I took a new one on last year 3 bed semi with a conny.

Cleaned it twice no problem.

3rd clean I get an email saying I'd missed a parts of the conservatory.

I said could you send a pic as I'm confused sure I'd cleaned it all.

He sent a pic of the roof ?

Of course when I told him the price to do a one off clean he cancelled.

There is some queer folk about, this made me think of another cleaner I know a lad who works for him they split a street between them anyway one day the lad is off sick or something and after finishing one job the customer comes out complaining that he'd missed the conny roof the lad says I never priced the roof to be cleaned, for months his worker had been cleaning the roof at every clean he says I thought he'd been a bit slow :ROFLMAO:

I would have told them they would be better changing the conny to a summer room and proper roof. Glass and plastic roofs must be the biggest waste of time and effort. What good do they do? Too hot in summer and too cold in winter but an insulated real roof ticks all the boxes. I see companies who specialise in it with imitation roof tiles and it looks great.

Yes this happens to me all the time, so now i do conservatories separate from the house But if they demand i do bottom windows for the conservatory i charge £35 for that & the house windows on a monthly clean. when they ask about doing the roof i makes sure they are well aware that they will pay at the minimum £120 as i treat it as a separate clean & will use TFR maybe some stain remover where needed if they ask for inside trad clean i will charge £100 extra just for that i'll clean and polish the inside and clean the frames inside too

We have learnt from experience to quote the house and conservatory and then add that the roof is another £x as and when you require us to do it.

We did have someone expect us to clean the fascias and gutters while we were there cleaning the windows. Now we also add that gutter and fascia cleaning is an additional extra as well. :giggle:

A lot of customers think it’s a 5 minute job to clean a conservatory roof they say can you give the roof a go today while you are doing the windows .I explain why not and they seem to think they are your only customer for the day .Some say you only have to squirt some of your water on it i then show my schedule for the day and say if I clean your roof today some of these customers will be missed .They seemed shocked that you have a full day.

I took a new customer 4 weeks ago. Did a shopfront for him for 28, then i said to him fhe regularly by wfp will be 12. He agreed.
I came after 4 weeks, he jumped out with the question if I can "quickly" wash his neighbours shopfront. Small one, messy on main road, but it was closed. (It is like a joint business - same colours.. I don't care) Of course, my pleasure.
I sent him the invoice: regular cleaning 12, initial cleaning 18.
I received email: "I did not know you will charge me for that. You could said that in advance."
I did not reply to this at all. If I would ask for free shoping in his store, how would he react?

I hate these too.. but once I was changing the light bulb in the bathroom for one old lady. It took me good 10 min as i had to remove the flat lamp shade with knife instead of screwdriver. I did it, you know, sometimes we have to act like a humans..

Yes sometimes I will put some bins back for some customers and if they are old I will take the rubbish bags and put in for them we all will get old and it’s nice to think you have helped them and one day when we are in there position hopefully the same will happen to us ☺️
