yer just to buy the gas tanks for them can setyou back from £100-£200 then you have the cost of the filling cap of around £100, cutting the sid of the van to fit the filling cap tooA lot of lads use lpg hot water heater systems now.
so lets work this out,
£140 for heater divided that by 365 days a year = 0.39p each day
actual running cost for an immersion heater:-
37.5p an hour
£3.75 a night (10 hours)
£26.25 a week
£105 a month
£1260.00 for a year
it takes 2-3 hours just to heat up 100lts of water,
thats goin on the tarriff im on, might be slightly different for other people
i know what one i would choose!!!!
its ok i know you are not. the prices are from knowing about it. i come from a building background and have help out sparkies.i am not having a go i am only telling you waht i have heard just trying to help not sure where you have got you prices from because they are completey different from what i have seen and i dont care immersion heater and most people will tell you does not really have a cost because if you are unluckly you might have to use it 12 times a year so just a few quid any way forget that you are lucky you dont have to pay for gas not many people will have that luxury
yer i'll ask him next time i see him on hereThe expert on gas water heaters seems to be njones....over the years he has tried many makes and mods so probably would be the best person to ask questions about there daily use.
yer cheers, i thought i was going to have a few things! lolWell done on your mot , i cant comment regarding the L5 never tried one to much money for me lol, would your insurance go up because of carrying propane gas
you have to tell them anyway if you carry any gas, esp the large cylinders. If it was a permanent fitting/mod to the inside of the van the guess you would have to your insurance company to make sure you would be still covered.
fill hot in the morning /emoticons/wink.png good idea john p
tbf its only the first 2 hours of the day that hurt in the winter, im trad and i fill my bucket with hot water in the winter mornings, after a few houses it cools down but im warmed up by then, no need for hot water all day imoIt will be cold in 2 hours, less depending on temps
It does freeze faster, I think it will help using warm water but not hot water. it somethins is told cold and is gets heated up to quickly. It will crackthe article says it MAY freeze....
"The phenomenon that hot water may freeze faster than cold is often called the Mpemba effect."
The warm water will clean better than cold, and will stop pipes and brushes freezing when working.I agree gm for trad but rc is wanting to use hot/warm water for everyday use as seems to think it will clean better and help stop his wfp gear frezing up in winter.
To a degree pure warm water does work better than cold on first cleans but to be honest if it is that cold the ground being below -1 c then I would not use wfp gear anyway. Simples....
There was a guy on here that used them once but can't remember what was said about themhttp://www.ebay.co.u...=item2ebdd2bb35
was gonna get 2 of these one for the 1000l tank and one for my 400l tank
He's right, it's not as common as people make out.the article says it MAY freeze....
"The phenomenon that hot water may freeze faster than cold is often called the Mpemba effect."
That I would like to try, shame it don't get that cold here!Silly but interesting vid showing what happens to hot water in cold temps outside.
