2 poles off one pump ?

Hi I have a water genie pump and controller running at 35, is it possible to run two poles off it and just turn it up to 70 ?.

Trying to turn my van into a 2 man set up as cheap as possible.

Can't see this working as one pole would always have more resistance in pipes/jets, kinks, coils etc than the other I would think, I doubt you would get 35 at each brush, more likely 50/20 or something.

You can do it, but you'd need a y connector on the hose, and it would be really annoying when one of you turns the water off, as the other person would get a sudden high pressure spray from there pole,

It would also be a lot of wear and tear on the pump, best to get a second pump really

My van already has a 'Y' splitter in it as so I have the option for using my internal mounted hose or for connecting to my external ports if I want the van locked.

I have tried running 2 from 1 pump and could never get the settings to a point where water flow was equal per brush as water takes the path of least resistance.

Exactly.

The only way to make this work would be to have exactly the same hose length, exactly the same jets both with the same wear, both at the same height with the same runs and bends etc etc

Just not going to happen every day window cleaning, you could probably get it working at home on the drive messing about but all day every day on the job? no chance.

Don't see any reason why you couldn't run both pumps off one controller.

Hi mate, the two pumps one controller is possible. The father in law is an electrician and a mate of mine fiddles in lights so he gave me the idea of having two switches from the one controller to each pump. I will get some pictures for you tomorrow as my van is blocked in and i can't be bothered to move the cars out of the way lol. if you have an email, i'd be more than happy to send you over some pictures.

I don't get why people write 'i don't see how it could work' when in fact they themselves never tried it.

It does work, as jake says you will have higher flow from one pole when the other is turned off, but it's not too bad. When one finishes just turn flow down.

Hose length doesn't matter, my mate has about 30m while on my reel there's 100m.

Hose from pump is obviously 1/2", hose on both reels microbore (6mm).

On my own I need setting on #4, with the 2 of us we put it up to #6.

If you wanted to split your microbore (so only using one pump and one reel) now that doesn't work. The person doing upstairs would have less pressure than the one doing downstairs. - at least that's my experience
