I bet you wished you had done it earlier it’s always a gamble but if you are determined you will succeed like you have done ?

That's great @Ian Docksey well done. How many customers do you have now?
What was your best promoting method?
Any tips?
I'm about 6 months behind you :)
Hi mate. Yep Checkatrade has got me around 70% of my regulars( these people are actively looking for a window cleaner). Got a few through Facebook. (Not as good as I was hoping) . Now word of mouth is kicking in also.
I believe you are in Kent, whereabouts in Kent?

Posh part !!
All things are relative ?
I tend to work in the areas around Blackpool where the people are more affluent. Plus working in some parts of Blackpool is a nightmare with the 'residents only' parking areas. They put the yellow stripes over the kerbs so 'no unloading' and then residents parking on the other side so no where to park to work.

when i park in residents only i sometimes phone council car parks to let them know my reg. etc.while working.
this will stop anyone ticketing you

Unfortunately Blackpool Council won't accept that idea. I used to have a good relations with the Traffic wardens as we used to run holiday apartments 1 street away from Blackpool Pleasure Beach - so mega busy in holiday seasons and lots of obstructions/illegally parked cars. They were very good at enforcement - I had to have a few cars towed to get out of my driveway!
They made our road a 'residents only parking' when it was also designated a tourist area!!! Maybe that was because the local councillor lived in next street that was also made residents only parking! They also put the double yellow lines at 90 degrees across the kerbs so no unloading!!! How was that supposed to work with all the hotels etc.
I rang the traffic wardens department and asked how our window cleaner (wfp) was supposed to legally park to clean the windows or how the laundry company could drop off and pick up. Their reply was if their vehicles were parked illegally then they would get a ticket! I even followed up with an email to council and received same response!

As you say, any council with an ounce of common sense can see we are working and wont be that long. Great that your council is sensible and thanks for highlighting it.
Cheers
