Illegal Booster Pump

I know a lot of you will be using a booster pump to increase the pressure through your ro. If this is connected directly off the mains without a break tank I have been told by Window Cleaning warehouse and Cleaning Spot that this is ILLEGAL!! (shock, horror). A friend made me aware of this following a conversation with Varitech and Wessex Water.

Apparently bylaws are in force to prevent people doing this. All sorts of reasons for it, mainly to stop water being sucked out faster than it should be supplied by the mains pressure.

Trying to suss a way round this. I've seen little water tanks available from Screwfix that are complete with ballcocks (can I say that these days) etc approx £29. My idea was to then have the pump being fed from it which would comply with regs.
