As the title says I'm wondering whether the hype for the xtreme pole is justified, I do use a clx for the main bulk of my work and also have an slx35 for higher work.

Recently I have started uping my bow strength at at archery and its taking its toll on my shoulders, would an xtreme pole help?

Thanks guys

It depends very much on the individual.

Personally, I find my Xtreme 22 brilliant. It's my everyday all day pole. I have maybe 5 properties where I need to use my SLX25 and boy, when I switch back to the Xtreme can I tell the difference.

I also like the extra rigidity compared to the more flexible SLX and CLX. However, others find the flexibility of these poles useful.

The Xtremes aren't as tough as the SLX and CLX, but I don't mind the expense of maintaining them. Others do. When I consider that I've done three years and three months worth of work with it to date and only had to replace two sections to me that's just expenses.

Similar experience to @Marko067 above I simply love my Extreme 22ft for everyday work. Anything that's three storie I take the last pole from my clx 27 to up the height, just enough to get them done.

maintenance isn't to much of a issue in my opinion, I always took apart my clx to give it a deep clean just need to do it more regularly for the extreme.

I know what everyone means, the clx has more of a bounce to it and if I'm honest it kinda comes in handy for "scrubbing power"

I've never minded in investing in good equipment as long as I get value for money.

they are not as hard wearing as the SLX.    ive had 2 top clamps need replacing in 1 year.    Its a better pole but just not a work horse.   .  a lot more expensive than a Slx.       so a 22 SLX 22 Extreem     what is the exact weight difference

The trouble with bouncy poles for me is when I'm working on fascia/gutters which are extremely fragile and on the verge of falling off a bouncy pole has led to me causing damage.. So from past experience I just would not use a bouncy pole again, the more rigid the pole the better for me. If I was just cleaning windows then I might buy an CLX.

Not sure if gardeners do the 3k poke at 22',but its there toughest pole n stronger than slx, dont know why they dont market it more,i have the 35' which has the two top section as high modulus carbon, much better than 35' slx.

According to Gardiners spec sheet the X22 is 280g heavier than the SLX22. (a little over half of 1lb)

That may not sound like much but when working with it extended, leverage and inertia come into play and make the heavier of the two feel considerably more tiring to work with.

However, like I said before what one person doesn't like another might find helpful. The only way to know for yourself is to try one.

Bald - I've used SLX and Xtreme - Have to say the Xtreme does make a tangible difference- though it may not seem that much lighter...when you consider your holding your pole for hours on end each an every/most days and then couple that with the more you extend it the 'lever' force increases greatly on the 'fulcrum' - your shoulder - so the impact to your shoulder joint increases with the weight (to illustrate hold you arm out straight and hold a 'heavy' book...now repeat hold two heavy books - the effect/'pain' seems to increase exponentially)  NB my Xterme 35 slots into the rest of SLX (70ft or whatever it is) so I can still reach stupid heights - might be true of your sizes so you might get away with a smaller (Cheaper) Xtreme and slot it into your existing SLX sections to reach the 'few' high reach jobs - depends off course on your round makeup.

I have used a extreme18 for approx 18 months and still going strong Today I ordered another one brilliant poles IMO ?

Yes they are noticeably better as in lighter and stiffer than an slx and make a clx seem ridiculous in comparison.

Whether they are worth the extra cost only you and your body can decide. You would probably do well to get 2 years out of one. Mine was badly worn after a year and a section snapped after 6 months.

Slow things down for a few days if possible and reduce your bow strength and have had aching shoulders with trying to get through more work with the weather been against me because of the recent storms, the last 2 days I have took things a bit easier and had early finishes due to heavy rain and winds, my shoulders feel better for an easier 2 days and I use my Xtreme/triggers broom Sections 1,2 & 5 been xtreme sections and sections 3 & 4 are slx sections as sections snapped I just took them from my slx

I will most likely buy a new pole this year it will be a toss up between an Xtreme-22 or a Facelift Hi-Mod pole or possibly an SLX-18, I may buy a Facelift carbon 18ft as I know it's possible to use Gardiner brushes on them using each brands resi neck put together, using the base of the facelift and the top piece of gardiners one to use the quickloc heads etc

Now that I've used an Xtreme for the last 4-5 years, I wouldn't go back to an SLX or CLX. It's made a massive difference with helping to eliminate shoulder pain. The weight difference is like night and day.

I use the Xtreme 25 with the extension pack, taking it up to 35ft. I tried my mates 18ft Xtreme the other day and it was light as a feather!

Go for it ? (or at least see if you can find a window cleaner that will let you try it out)

an xtreme 25 is my everyday pole and an xtreme 47 is my high level pole......your working days will be miles easier using these poles compared to CLX and SLX poles(ive had all of them over the years)

im looking after my main xtreme pole a bit more by dismantling it and flushing it out every week, spraying it with PTFE spray and retaping the bottom of the sections if needed as a matter of course to reduce wear to a minimum......ill be happy to get 18 months out of it before buying another one....

by the way im a 6ft 2in 17 stone bodybuilder with huge arms...it still makes a massive difference to how i feel at the end of the day compared to the normal carbon poles....

Ahhh so you must definitely kno purple acky ?

a pole says a lot about you and your business set up.

CLX =  Starting out or just not got enough spare cash to purchase a higher spec pole, or just want to keep every penny you earn

SLX =  Been cleaning for a while , business is bringing in Proffit.  going forward.

Extreem  =   More spending money than most of your competitors.   Good sound business making you Proffit.  looking out for yourself against injury which can fek you up

I always comment on the pole when I see my competitors.  you can see if they are investing there proffit into themselves and there bussiness set up.   The main man has the best , his Workers have CLX poles.

they are like cars.

Lol love this I choose to use a clx as my main pole , obviously Ime only just starting out , cannot afford the extream ,and don’t  have 3 vans with 6 guys ???? , I have had the extream 18 as a main pole and they are nice ,but I don’t notice much weight difference, they are a lot stiffer , but when you are used to the clx you can use the whip to your advantage when cleaning

It just depends on what work you clean as well...I have lots of work with awkward angle windows, skylights and 3 storey windows so an xtreme helps a lot in reduced strain during my working day.i also have some large properties where I need my 25 ft pole fully extended just to reach the first floor windows.....
