Hi guys, hope you're all well. Happy new year!

Going to be needing my water genie backpack this week. Just remembered that last time when I tried to use it, after having it on charge for a few hours, when I tried to use it, it would just make a screeching sound and not work. It does work when the backpack is plugged in however.

When I put it on charge the charger would just stay green, and even when it's not charging the light is still green. This made me think there was something wrong with the charger but if that's the case I don't see how it would work when plugged in at the wall.

I'm not brilliant at this stuff so if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be brilliant.

Make your own backpack and buy the parts yourself, if anything goes wrong its easier to fix ;) , backpacks mainly come from china and are chepily built and are not built to last, u will get a few months use out of them until parts stop working.

In my experience It will be the battery not accepting charge. £30 for a replacement by the look of it. Worth contacting them first, especially if its still in warranty.

He’s already said he’s not good at that sought of stuff ??‍?

Just wondering, do I have to buy the specific battery for the backpack or can I just buy one from screwfix and hook that up? The official spare is a 12v lead acid battery and it's 25 to 30 pound it seems, whereas one from screwfix is like 13 pounds.

If it will fit securely and is the same voltage and same terminals then I would give it a go.

I've just looked on the Screwfix website and they do a number of different amph batteries. There is one for £12.50 but its only a 1.2amph. There is a 7.0amph unit but that's £22. I think the Water Genie BP uses a 7.0amph battery.

I would suggest you take it with you as a sample.
