Evening folks. I have a Gardiner backpack that is only use twice every 6 weeks on the front of a couple of small houses.
It’s years old so can’t complain to much, but the last couple of times it’s been used, it takes about a minute to get the water spraying through to the brush even though it’s on full power.
Just seems a bit gutless now.
The battery was charged a couple of days ago.
Any ideas please ???‍?

Ours is also old, but the pump immediately springs to life when switched to 2 bars (full mode).

Switching to full power (2 bars) bypasses the electronic controller. That leaves either the battery or the pump. The only way you are going to solve the problem is to replicate it with the base apart from the tank. With the pump switched on, measure the voltage across the battery. If the voltage is low then it could be a battery problem or a switch problem.
Never paid any attention to the volt meter gauge on the side of the backpack. It does light up nicely in the dark though.

I can't remember how difficult it is to disconnect the wiring to the pump, but you could try powering it from your leisure battery. If the pump springs to life, then its a battery or a bad connection. Maybe Alex is the best person to contact.
