I use this  Allen key type connector on my battery, but I’m  getting a bit tired of disconnecting and bench charging in the garage.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but is it okay just to hardwire the charger into another port on the connector? Before I cut the crocodile clips off, Will the battery charge okay?

Yes its fine. I have a Numax charger which uses crocodile clamps such as these but has a Torberry Anderson connector enable me to remove these clamps as a unit.

I have made several 'flyleads' each connected to the leisure battery of each van. All I do is plug the charger in leaving the battery in place.

Here's an example of an off the shelf equivalent.

@spruce this has just reminded me to buy some 13mm ring connectors so I can permanently connect my torberry connectors which came with my numax charger, I have my electric reel and and controller connected to the smaller battery posts just need to connect charging connectors to the larger 13mm posts

Its just so much easier to plug the charger in.

It will also negate any issue with putting the clamps onto the wrong terminals in error - like putting the wrong fuel in at the petrol station - it happens.

I only have to undo two nuts and take the cover plate off so only saving me 2 minutes in a day, ooh think what I can do with a whole 2 minutes ?, maybe saw more rabbits up down the garage and avoid the wife for a bit longer  ?
