I bought the b&q one before Christmas cost me £10 (orange and white box) all my stuff was frozen and I mean everything the other day, put the heater in for30mins deforested then off I went to work even my pole hose was frosted badly but this heater sorted it out no problem at all

I`ve just got a new convector with 3 heat settings. I have it set on 750 watt turning on for an hour 3 times during the night in cold weather. Do most of you run them all night or is this about right?

can I echo a previous question, how do we power these heaters in the vanwhen locked up overnight ?? I don't park in a driveway so I cant run it from electric point in house to the van

mine is on all night but only put it on -2 or below

in the garage got one of them orange halogen heaters also only used it once in garage

As these good for the cottage Mac as have moved backed out to the country. Have LPG tank and have just gone through £500 worth in just 5 weeks which shocked me so is that heater lot cheaper to run.

Yes they are doug, very effective & controllable, the fan boost is a great feature too as it moves the warm air around. I would advise a woodburner/multifuel stove in the long run though. Oil seems to be more efficient than LPG.

Easy way to insulate your van for cheap is camping matts, a Stanley knife and a cupola of cans of spray glue contact adhesive.

1, if your bad at guessing shapes use a cheap roll of wall paper to make templates.

2,spray the bit your sticking and the surface your sticking to with contact adhesive give it a generous coating, leave it for a minute or two then you only have one chance of sticking it where it's new home will be or you have to wait a day for the glue to go off before re sticking it.

3, enjoy a warmer van that's also quieter on the road!!

The foam matts are about £2 upwards and you can buy them in bulk on ebay bit I think asda do them really cheap too

I'm taking it you have gone down this route Stuvy? If so did you stick the mats onto the metal or was the van ply-lined and you stuck it onto that. Either way excellent idea mate a real money saver no doubt.

I use a 1200 watt tubular greenhouse heater. it is tiny and is bolted to the side panels with a bit of ali checker late behind it.

It cost around £30 on ebay and is brilliant. It does not heat the van but it is enough that even n minus 10 the frost stays away, and they are safe (as long as you buy a proper UK one and not Chinese.

And you can sprinkle water on them!
