Changing Jets

So on the extreme brushes, you wouldn't recommend swapping the jets for smaller ones /emoticons/sad.png ?

I wouldn't really recommend using the half size jets on any brush unless it was on the wider brushes instead of 4 standard jets. I would find that half the water would simply take longer to clean and rinse the window.

However depending on how you work you may find that this is OK for your methodology - If you do not try them you will not know how they work for you.

We have brought them out for users of the wider brushes who wanted to use the same amount of water just spread out across the width of the brush.

Whilst your here Alex, what flow rate do you typically use? Digital flow controller wise not in litres per minute.

Well I am tempted with over the top rinsing on the extreme.

Four small jets. Two in normal place. Then two spraying above the brush.

Going to try them anyway.

I use a digital Liquid Logic and 100metres of 6mm ID microbore.
When using a Shurflo (100psi) or Flojet Triplex (100psi) I use it on about 80-85.

When using a Flojet Duplex (100psi) I use it on about 70-75.

I do prefer a higher flow than some as I like to rinse fairly quickly.

No, not a lot now. Dad and I share the van but Dad mainly uses it. As my time is taken up elsewhere more and more, I use my subbies to cover my work. I do mainly commercial work twice a month - they are good earners and I can test out new ideas/prototypes, etc while I work.

@ Alex, you weren't the pioneer of wfp in Cornwall years ago were you? I remember seeing an article in 'The Cornishman' years ago when they cleaned Penzance town hall using wfp for the first time. It must have been the turn of the century if I remember correctly.

Nope, not me. I didn't start WFP until 2000. Back then I used an Unger pole and Hi-Flo brush.

Is there not a way to have 2 pencil jets and 2 fans and some sort of little switch / valve at the top to change where the water goes? would have seemed obvious as a solution to me, no?

Most of our new brushes now feature twin sets of jet holes. This does allow you to fit both fan jets and pencil jets next to each other. What some clients do is have both sets connected up to separate tee connectors and jet hose - they simply connect the pole hose to whichever set of jets they want to use.

The Xtreme brushes currently do not come with twin jet holes due to the smaller brush stock size.

But what kind of fitting would I need if I wanted it all wired up and just a valve/tap to flip to control which 2 heads got the water? Can't find the kind of valve/tap/flow direction chooser thing I am imagining anywhere - surely they exist?

I know the sort of thing you mean but I'm not sure such a flow diverter exists in this size.

ive just fitted the gardiner red plastic fan jets. i use a back pack, and if i want them fanning i just up the water pressure, then if i want pencil just lower it. im finding this quite good at the moment. anybody else do this?
