Cleaning Small Diamond Shaped Windows?

Is it best to run an applicator over all the diamond shapes then dry it off with a scrim? If so, is there any technique required when using the scrim in these small shapes?

And is this the same for small leaded rectangular shaped windows?

Can you get lead poisoning if you clean these with a scrim for years?

Also, on another note, I was canvassing just now and then I got in my car. A police car pulled into the street parked and stayed there for 5 minutes the drove off. Am I being paranoid, or could someone call the cops if you go knocking on every door up and down a street? Can you be prosecuted for canvassing?

Probably the least qualified to comment on the leaded windows used to clean some like that many moons ago on farmhouses set in mullion stone allow extra time to clean try. Not to apply too much pressure as are not the sturdiest window due to individual panes of glass set in soft lead the canvassing question I can't answer

Also I have a very large domestic house with these kind of old windows on a converted barn, I always use wet cloth 3 windows and then buff them up starting from the beggining and make them spanking new quickest way I found

You've yet to discover the delights of using pure water out of a brush on the end of a pole!!

Having said that, I used to use Mr Muscle window cleaning spray. It's green and i found it did a better job than the Windolene equivalent. Spray it on and polish off, you'd soon get the hang of it.

You can buy it for about £1.50 ish a bottle.

Using mops and squeegees on leaded windows is a bit of a nuisance. I did try that but you'll soon soak a few scrims.

Take note of previous comment about being careful of delicate windows. The old way of making a leaded window was, indeed, separate pieces of glass. this can be a bit dodgy if you're a bit heavy handed. The modern way is a regular window/sheet of glass with the strips of lead just stuck to the glass. It's a bit more resilient but can catch a cloth and start to peel away, especially if it's been a diy job. Again, you'll soon get the hang of it.

Nah ok then spray bottle with cleaning solution and just buff dry. Less is more lol, try not to soak windows.

Run the applicator over windows not to wet or spray with bottle then dry most off with a scrim the polish with a microfiber cloth Takes quite a while or wfp seconds

I hate door knockers,just post leaflets,I put thousands of leaflets out 4 years ago and now got 400 odd houses and a bit of commercial including school although I had cleaned windows all my life for big firms before goin alone.all my customers hate door knockers and I think it makes you look desperate.

Old bill may pull you up if they think your looking dodgy mate.

Bit of astonish tile & window cleaner. Spray on clean with micro & buff with micro. Simple easy quick & sparkling

I would just use a damp cloth, wipe the glass, then buff off with a scrim.. I would do diagonal 1 way then diagonal the other then round edges.. Lovely.. And just be careful scrimming the older type windows as they are very fragile..

Damp cloth in one hand, dry micro fibre in other. Rub with damp and while ya buffing that dry damp up the next bit. Very fast method. I used to give a quick spray then rub with cloth then dry and buff, other method us so much faster.

I find doing if this way and letting ya hands do the reverse of each other is the fastest.
