Hi Guys

Been doing window cleaning wfp for some time now and im getting more and more enquiries about conservatory roofs.

So I’ve decided to start doing them but just wondering, do you guys use ladders?

I don’t currently have any ladders as I’ve never needed them for the windows but im assuming I’d need a ladder to effectively cleaning a conservatory roof?

If so any recommendations?

It depends but on most you will need a ladder of sum discription we have several types and use the best for each job , but find the little giant steps are very good as you can use them at all kinds of different angles if you Google them you can see loads of videos on how they work , or you can use a normal ladder or pointer .

some connys need a ladder to get the right pressure on the glass, depends how manky they are, and the slant of the roof. I've never come across a windy who doesn't have at least 1 ladder lol fair play mate :)

I use one section of my 2.5m scaffold and gets me at least 2 metres off the ground. It means I'm scrubbing down the way and makes the job alot easier. It's more professional and a good bit safer but will set you back a grand unless you buy second hand on Ebay.

We clean / Valet conservatories everyday.
We use a combination of ladders, the A frame style that open up to different heights and then also into full ladders when needed like the little giant brand as PJJ said. This way you do not mark the gutters when you put your ally ladders against them.
A different brand will be about £350+ or Little giant around £550+
These are also great to use on the inside if you start doing the insides, nice earner not many people doing this.

We also use the specialist conservatory ladders when needed as we offer deep cleans externally with minor repairs so this helps us get into the areas. These cost around a grand now which is expensive if you are not doing it every day.
You will also need a set of ladders to get into the box gutter areas if you are giving the conservatory a full clean with or without a gutter vac as a lot of property roofs over hang the box gutter so you need to get onto the conservatory to clear the box gutter 100%

Good Luck

Top tip. Get some pipe lagging, around 10” in length and cut it vertically from top to bottom.
You can now attach them to your ladder at the gutter height.
This does two things. It adds grip to the gutter and stops it scratching ???‍?

100% if the guttering is new,
when its 10+ years you still run the risk of damaging the gutter clips. If they are the internal style gutter clips you will be very lucky to find any suppliers in the future than can supply them to you as most roof companies in the UK have gone bust and do not make them anymore. The ones that are still in business do not make the old parts as they want you to replace the roofs.
A frame ladders are for us or lean the ladders against a wall close to the conservatory if its to access the box gutter.
