That's partly because they (gov) switched to low sulphur fuel and older vehicles needed the sulphur to lubricate the pumps! I think the garage may not have fully understood the change to fuel.Years ago I had injector problems in my Vito , the garage who sorted it said you have been running it on supermarket fuel , I said yes how do you know he said the injectors were all gummed up as there was no additives in there fuels he said he saw it all the time , I used to fill up at Asda , since then I only use supermarkets fuel on odd occasions and have never had a problem since .
