Do I need a second pole for spraying?

I dont think univalves are supposed to be used with chemicals ??? But apart from that chemicals in a back pack or pole shouldn’t hurt anything with regards to window cleaning if flushed through with fresh water after use , we use our  poles for applying hypo mixes and flush them through after  without any problems, the hypo does  make the pole hose go brittle and crack after a few months though , but that’s the only thing we have found .
It's an each to thier own on how we all do things. Would be boring if we all did the same. Yes I don't think univales are made to put chemicals through. I as I've said won't put mains pressure through them either,  that's just my opinion.

I think most peoples pumps, technically, will produce 100psi which is significantly higher than most peoples taps! OK so we have pressure loss due to hose etc but pump pressure will be higher than mains.

Never looked at it that way mate. Good pont made there. Still won't put tap water through my day to day poles though. ?

Entirely correct. My mains pressure is in the region of 20~30 psi though I have used much higher pressure mains water at customers homes especially at the bottom of hills. I've never had a problem using mains water and at this time son and I have used it several dozen times on big full external washes, often including conservatories. 'Spring cleans' as we call them even though we do them all year round.

Tis only water. It does once again seem a case of the simple things in life being made complicated. ?

Through 1/2  pipe, reduce that down to 8mm and calculate. All I know is from a tap I only need a turn compared to 99 on my controller
That's why I said 'technically'. Flow and pressure are always a difficult thing to portray.

As you know typically pumps only do 5.2 litres per min where as mains supply can be 12 litres per min!

Obviously jets, pole hose, reel hose and connectors all impact flow and pressure. I find it quite a complex thing and that is coming from someone who managed data and calculations for jet engine certification!

I'm a thick scrap man, with a tap psi of below 25, so also don't understand the calculations ?

Hi guys, might be a daft question so do forgive me...

At the moment I just spray whatever TFR/chemical I'm using onto my brush head and scrub it on but I'm going to buy a backpack and DA Components spray nozzle to make life a little easier with FSG cleans etc.

I only have 3 poles, 2 of which are 18ft and the other is an slx 25. Do I need to buy another pole or can I apply the chemical, remove the nozzle and put a brush head back onto the end of the slx? Will the pole hose be alright or can the chemicals linger inside and cause spotting on windows?

Thanks

Jake

We covered this just a few days ago. If you rinse out any pole hose / pole with plenty of water then NO

I have a specific pole because the actions of scrubbing abrasive substrates cause to much pressure on the sections and clamps. That's just my opinion

We have a dedicated spraying pole , but you can use any pole and apply chemicals through the brush if you want just rinse it through thoroughly after and it will be fine .
