Hello,

I'm looking for any suggestions/advice on a potential clean. I have been contacted to clean a garden room glass/aluminum roof. The customer has had it cleaned around 6 months ago (roof only installed 12 months ago) via water fed pole but the results weren't great. The customers believe the pole cant generate enough pressure to clean parts of the roof where there is stubborn dirt/dust that has been caked on by the heat. I'm not sure if that is entirely the case as the roof itself has very little run, believe even if you agitate the dirt you could spend all day trying to rinse the dirt down.

I wondered if anyone had any suggestions on chemicals I could pre spray on the roof to help do the heavy lifting? then continue the clean using water fed and end with a heavy rinse.

Any other suggestions id be happy to hear. Was quite shocked to hear the roof was new and the state it was already in. Wondered if anyone had come up against anything similar?

Cheers

Hi
We specialise in conservatory cleaning,
You are correct that sometimes the water fed pole alone can take quite some time. If the roof is only 12 months old i would question what it is that is on the roof as this should not be that bad maybe a sap or something?
We use a combination of a few techniques
1. Cleaning agent soak
2. Long reach pole to loosen the area
3. Agent soak again then using what we call a truck wash brush you can get these from Halfords or vehicle trade suppliers they have a heavier brush head that also extends.
4. If the area is further back we have the correct conservatory ladders that can extend you to the rear or top of the conservatory then you can use a hand brush.

I hear you say, I haven't got time to do all of that !

The key to cleaning conservatories, garden rooms, lanterns DO NOT PRICE THESE AS WINDOWS! these areas need time to do them correctly and you need to charge the customer correctly or explain that this is a rinse only and not a clean/valet service. We charge a minimum of £350 per external valet which in most areas is the same as 10-15 house window cleans, think how long that takes you to clean and pack up , set up , drive to these x10 - 15 properties.
This then warrants the cost of upgrading your ladder collection etc

This might not be a great help for this actual issue but
I hope that this does for any future cleans on conservatories.

It’s good to see that you charge what you do for external clean only , I agree with your pricing but most on hear will not saying people won’t pay that for outside , seams Ime not the only one charging these prices and getting work ????? well done ?
