Gardiners slx gooseneck mystery?

Not long had a slx 22, don't like carbon goosenecks but sometimes use them on awkward "over conservatory bedroom windows", so yesterday I thought I'd put one on that normally I use on a slx 18 so I pulled out the resi neck and tried to insert the gooseneck and it doesn't fit, yet it fits the slx 18 which accepts the same resi necks

Carbon goose necks are narrower than plastic resi necks, so I can't see why it won't fit

dunno why i wouldnt fit but why dont you try the long arm resi neck
